Delicious quality EVOO
My ' Go To' EVOO. ..not bitter; green but more buttery ; flavorful and not too expensive . I bake, cook and use it in salads.. adds a wonderful richness to my tomato sauce too ! A shot a day keeps the doctor away as well ! I have more expensive finishing evoo as well. but for an all purpose, quality, and flavorful evoo, this one fits the bill !

Single origin oil excellent quality
Comes in a can, which is great for storage. This oil is verified from a farm in Crete, not a blend of oils pretending to be Italian or Spanish but coming from all over. I have no issue with Tunisian oil or Moroccan but if you're blending oils, how good can any of them really be? This oil is single estate. The flavor is fruity but not overwhelmingly or having a bitter bite to it. Good for cooking, dipping and making dressings. Theoretically you should fry in 100% oil not EVOO because heating destroys the subtle flavors but I use it to saute and employ grapeseed oil (high smoke point) for shallow frying. The can keeps the oil fresh unopened (it's metal) and fresher opened (small screw spout.) (Warning; my dog has a thing for this oil and has figured out how to open the box AND the can spout and he poured out an entire can on his dog bed while he enjoyed some. That was an expensive treat, Doggo.) Update: he stole the cruet off the counter (I have no idea how he grabbed it, it's rounded, no edges) and licked up what was in it. He LOVES this stuff and it's true a Tbs or two is good for his coat and skin.

This is the clear winner!
I was very impressed with this oil and with the care with which the company ensured the protection of their product in shipping. I ordered this oil and one from another company to do a comparison for true olive oil taste and quality. I am a bit of an olive oil connoisseur and wanted the best available from the convenience of Amazon. Both oils I ordered had won several awards and were certified as to purity and origin, something I was looking for. This one is from Greece and the other was from Spain, the world leader in olive oil production. Having lived in both countries, I've tasted their oils first hand, which was the reason for choosing these two for my comparison. This oil was far and away the winner, having a beautiful golden/green color and smooth taste with the characteristic peppery finish in the throat of a high grade olive oil. This is what you should taste and feel when you taste olive oil straight, just as you would a fine wine. It is said that the more it makes you cough, the better the olive oil. The taste was a bit bold, but not overpowering. It will work well with the Mediterranean, Mexican and Middle Eastern dishes I enjoy making. It also passed the "bread test" with flying colors. The taste of it when bread was dipped into it with nothing else added was excellent, a bit fruity and not greasy or bland. The packaging for shipping was also very impressive. The oil arrived bubble wrapped, in a cardboard box with peanuts to ensure stability and safety of the can, as well as offering some insulation of the product against the heat. The other brand carelessly put the can in a standard manila bubble wrap envelope only, resulting in a dented can and the heat from it's time in shipping made the can very hot to the touch when it arrived. Took it over 20 minutes to cool off. Needless to say, the other oil showed the same carelessness in their product and it was not of good color or taste. I don't know if this was from the extreme heat it endured from careless shipping or if the product itself was just of a poor standard to begin with. If you are looking for a great tasting oil that is superior in quality, order this one. You won't be disappointed. This will be the olive oil I will order from now on and look forward to enjoying it's superb taste in all my cooking.

REAL, definitely NOT FRAUD EVOO!! Amazing flavor!!
I read an article about fraud in EVOO and believed it because hubs and I have never enjoyed the bread dipping experience - even in our supposedly fine Italian restaurant. Odd. Anyhoo, it was difficult choosing from the list of REAL EVOOs but I chose a mid-priced oil considering my budget. Plus point! Only a dollar difference from the nasty tasting name brand I've been using for years! (Just type real olive oil in your browser - you'll be surprised!) Folks, you have GOT to try a genuine EVOO if this one is anything to go by! The taste is ... smoooooth, light, soft. I'm obviously not a food critic, I don't have the words. Hubs and I did the bread dipping thing. WOWZERS!!! Yes!!! We now believe! And weirdly, I use less of this amazing oil than the chemical tasting name brand I've been using. Silly me poured out what I'm used to using and my food was drowning. Don't understand that but, hey, it's quality EVOO, I just saved it in the fridge for next time! :) Color me cheap. Not throwing this good stuff out! Had it been the Bstuff, sure, out it goes, but not this precious oil. It comes in a tin so I poured a portion into my trusty CLEAN oil dispenser that looks prettier and is handier than the huge value bottle I've always bought. I'm tempted to try another brand of quality EVOO but hubs says why tempt fate when we've found such a delicious flavor? BTW, I've cooked 5-6 meals with this oil now. I didn't want to post a review until I was certain we enjoyed it for cooking and dipping. 3/14 Update. I wish I had checked date of purchase to know how long we've been using this oil but it is so very nice that we've begun to use it more as a finishing oil rather than cooking. I have other quality oils for cooking that don't have this luscious flavor that I do not want to waste. We've never been able to abide plain noodles with EVOO but with Ellora, it's a taste treat! I simply cooked the spaghetti noodles, drained, added my oil and herbs to the still warm pot. Dumped the hot noodled back into the pot and stirred well. It has suddenly become a favorite meal! With a salad tossed with EVOO and rice vinegar. Snack? My home baked bread (never buy bread) and a bit of Ellora. Have to limit portions or we'll be waddling soon.

Good, but not worth it.
I drink EVO daily, so taste matters. 4.5 stars...wish they let you do .5 stars. Definitely not 5 stars. taste good, just too expensive for what you get, in a blind taste test I could not tell difference for Costco ones in glass bottles for half the cost. it came is strong box, not sure how it would ever get dented like other reviews, mine came pristine. probably won't buy again
