Seems solid.
I wired this in over the weekend without taking it apart first. Iโm using it for suspension/rock lighting (x11 3-led modules 12v .250mA). x4 come on at door open & the rest on switch. I donโt care if it shorts out & blows my lights, they cost me $6 to replace. I wired a direct feed from an aux fuse panel that I put in that read 14.2vDC with engine idle. I grounded both leads & body to chassis & gave it a 5A fuse. The tested output is 18awg at 10โ & with x4 LEDs powered, It showed 12.20vDC at 1A at the LEDs & the same at the regulator with no load. At idle with no load, this module showed .001A for a moment then nothing. I couldnโt find it in mA or uA. I decided to leave it wired direct to observe the draw and because my 95 Chevy truck is negative pulsed interior lighting with positive ground. I made it a relay activated output & I have the rocklights activate on domelight trigger for door locking/unlocking. Note: If you do this type of lighting, keep in mind the negative trigger floats a positive voltage when not activated due to the lighting control module under the dash so keep the coil circuit dedicated to minimize load/shorting/abnormal pathways to battery through the control module. I did accidentally send my rigids through the module for a brief moment & the drain of x2 dually driving pods, sent it to 6.5A for a second with no issues. Iโve noticed no heat buildup on thermal at 1A nominal & 2.5A occasional. I do have a slightly weaker fm station thatโs in stereo maybe 70% of the time. When this is running under the hood (1A continuous draw), it takes the station out of stereo & gives me enough static to not be able to hear it. Closer antennas are not effected. Later I plan to try a capacitor, choke or diode combinations to attempt to remove the interference. Iโve not put it on the scope cause again, I donโt care about outcome in this project.

Acrid Odor, And No More Magic Smoke ;)
I purchased several of these for 12v cell modems (<1A). Easy to install, but two of them shorted out in less than a day...

Provides stable, consistent 12 volts
I use this to provide a stable, consistent 12 volts for my security cameras. My solar panels and battery system voltage can vary from 10 to 14 volts. The regulator has been functioning perfectly.

Stable but needs accessory switch
Easy to install and tested as 12.04VDC from standard automotive battery. However, the accessory (or load) cannot be connected during initial energizing. The unit fluctuates from 1.1 to 2.2VDC if the load is connected during initial energizing. Once energized, a load can be connected and it works as advertised.

Good External Solution
Great way to protect electronic components hardwired into a car, boat, RV 12 volt system. Also, the Apple TV 4th gen motherboard is 12 volts. (Be careful...2nd and 3rd gen NOT 12 v). There is a great YouTube video on wiring the 4th gen for 12 volts however the content provider leaves out the part about surges. Most likely the first time you start the vehicle with the Apple TV 4th gen plugging into the 12 volt system you will fry the motherboard. This is a great external solution for that. Works like a champ.

Does what it claims.
This is a handy little device. Simple and robustly made. It took inputs from my 12V DC solar power system from 15V down to 10V. and up to 2A draw. It delivered a steady 12V down to 10.5V input then it was out of range and only then did the output voltage fall below 12V. Perfect for supplying voltage sensitive electronics such as TV's Modems etc from a solar /battery system. Recommended. Note: There is a bigger 10A version if you need to draw in excess of 5A.

Consistent power to my Humminbird fish finder.
Was experiencing over current to my fish finder. Now it works perfectly with no interference whatsoever.
