Does your soccer player need to practice striking the ball?
We received the product promptly from Amazon and used it earlier in the week. The first thing I note is that there were no instructions... just the product in the Amazon shipping container. It's not complicated to put together, but I am used to getting at least a single piece of paper outlining the process. The product comes in several pieces that are Velcroed or clipped together. First, there's the belt that goes around the player's waist. Next, there's the clip on the front of the belt, a cord that attaches to the clip and then the other end of the cord basically forms a Velcro sandwich around the ball to complete attaching the ball to your soccer player. The whole thing easily adjusts for larger/smaller players and soccer balls. Now let's talk about training. My soccer experience leads me to break solitaire training down into a few categories: a) foot skills which is basically done in close proximity to the player b) dribbling which can include foot skills, but involves the player moving with the ball c) and shooting which includes how to plant feet and where to strike the ball Obviously there's a lot more to soccer, but these kinds of devices are typically focused on helping a player train when alone which is quite appropriate in this day with a pandemic going on and my soccer player not having done a team practice in over 3 months. First, this device will not help with a... it's not meant to as it's a kick trainer. I also don't see it helping much with b although the boy in the video on Sportout's website does some dribbling with one of these training devices. The whole point of this is c... practicing how to strike the ball because the 'chase the ball' part of that can consume much of one's practice time without one of these. This could mean practicing shooting on a goal or just practicing striking the ball properly. Does it work? Basically, yes, but it's not perfect. First strike is just fine as the wrapped Velcro doesn't get in the way at all. I suppose it's possible that based on how you contact the ball it could affect things a bit, but in practice we experienced no problems there. The hope was that we could practice kicking the ball over and over and that's where things breaks down a bit... the cord would get wrapped around my soccer player's leg. I then reviewed the video on the Sportout website and will note that I do not see the player doing the repeated kicks we tried... he just kicks, steadies the ball and then kicks again and that certainly works. The other aspect of this is that because there's a cord after kicking we noticed that the balls return had a bit of an unnatural jump to it. I can only see using this to practice kicking and then steadying the ball on return. Constructions seems pretty solid to me although time will be the ultimate judge of that. If we have problems we'll certainly update this, but from examining the stitching and such before and after use I don't envision a problem there. In a nutshell, for a little over ten dollars to have a tool that allows your soccer player to practice kicking anywhere is a deal. This is not a silver bullet for soccer training as it's pretty one dimensional in use, but then again who wants to spend 80% of their kicking practice time playing chase the ball? If you've got a friend to pass/kick back and forth or a brick wall to kick it off of then that's probably better, but for those where that's not an option this is a solid solution and again it's pretty inexpensive. Disclaimer: We ordered the Sportout Football Kick Trainer as part of their free test program which basically means we order the product and upon writing a review of the product they refund our purchase price. They made no insinuation that the review had to be positive/negative.

Best Soccer Training Purchase
For beginning soccer players to more advanced ages this is perfect for kids getting the needed touches on the ball without spending their time fetching the ball. My daughter uses hers almost daily and for the money it was worth it. It has caused her to improve with her ball control as well.

Perfect for soccer
My kid is 9 years old and loves using it. She’s tiny and I was worried about the belt not fitting her but the belt worked very well and it doesn’t fall off her waist. Highly recommend this product for practicing kicking, dribbling, and some other soccer tricks.

Looks great, zero durability
In terms of design, size, and ease of use it was great. In terms of durability, I gave one star only because there was no way to leave negative stars. After strapping in my ball and doing some basic passing and settling drills for no more than 15 minutes, the plastic clip hooking the bungee to the belt blew into a thousand pieces. Still trying to make due with the broken belt using just the bungee holding it in my hand, it took all of two kicks of the ball before the bungee itself ripped in half. If you plan on kicking the ball with anything more than the force of a newborn baby, I would not recommend this item.

Not for big kids?
We bought 2 of these. Seems to be holding up for use by 11-year-old soccer player, but the cord snapped with first hard kick by my big kid (high schooler). Company willing to replace so we will give it another shot.

Regalato ad una bambina di 8 anni che ama giocare a calcio, apprezzato moltissimo da lei così può giocare in casa non avendo il giardino, meno contenti i genitori .
