S&B Golden Curry Sauce Mix - Medium Hot (no Meat Contained) Extra Large 1kg

I made this the traditional Japanese way, with beef, carrots and potatoes and it was delicious. Its more of a spicy stew than a curry, but makes a nice change. I have also since made it with just chicken and onions, to create more of a curry and that was even better. The taste is very similar to Chinese yellow curries, but has its own unique flavour. Its really warming and a great comfort food. The medium spice is not very hot at all and if you like a spicy curry then go for the hotter version, or add in some fresh chillis/powder. The 1kg pack comes in a large block that is sectioned into handy portions that are ideal to make a curry for 2-4 people. I use 1 block for 2 people and it creates a generous amount with a little left over for the next day. Its very easy to use and you simply break off a piece and then dissolve in the water you have added to the pan, or use hot water from a kettle if adding to just meat and onions. After adding it will quickly dissolve and thicken up the sauce in a few minutes. I'd say this represents value for money over the smaller packs based on the weight of product you get. Overall I am really pleased with it and would definitely recommend for curry lovers.

I’ve been using the medium-hot version for years because it strikes the perfect balance - richly savoury with a subtle sweetness and just a mild hint of spice. It’s flavourful without being overpowering, making it ideal for those who enjoy a tasty curry without intense heat. The cubes dissolve smoothly, blending well with whatever ingredients you add, from tender meat to fresh vegetables. For those who like it spicier, they also offer hot and extra hot varieties (which I have yet to try, but am eager to do so one day). I purchased the 1kg pack for just under £12.00, which is notably much more economical compared to buying the smaller packs that tend to be pricier per gram. Since I typically use one cube per meal, this large pack will last me a long time, making it great value for money.

I have used this for many years to make Katsu Chicken/Prawns with sticky rice - it is excellent.

Good if you like it dark and strong. But add milk to make it your taste.
