Ordered in the morning, arrived on the same evening.We already had Fire Angel sealed units up, fitted by the fire brigade 8 years ago. The one at the top of the stairs started giving occasional false alarms. I put this down to occasionally getting steam from the adjacent bathroom. Not a problem after 8 years.I bought the replacements and was delighted to see that despite the design changing over time, the wall plate they fit to has remained the same. Simple installation, quarter turn to get the old one off, quarter turn to put the new one on.I wouldn’t buy any other type

So far so good. They seem to be working fine. Easy to install, they look ok, are not too obvious or oversized. they do react when I burn the toast (which is more often than it should be) so that gives me some peace of mind.

Easy to install, light flashes and alarm is loud when tested. Hope not to find out if it works properly.

I've had these a while now and discovered they can give a false alarm in cold & damp conditions. The offender is fitted upstairs on the loft hatch door. The washing machine and heat pump drier had been on in the evening and some washing was draped on an airer. The bathroom had been in use for a shower. Outside was cold & damp & had been for a few days. The heating hadn't been on. The alarm operated in the night causing major panic (it's loud!). The second time it was early evening. We were all up this time (less panic) and the environment was similar to the first time.

I purchased the twin pack and in less than a year both of them gave up the ghost. I contacted Fireangel who sent me replacements. I thought this was great customer service but naturally dissatisfied that the alarms had broken so soon, when they had a supposed 10 year guarantee.One of the replacements has now developed a fault. Unfortunately the chirping sound it gave off really distressed our dog. Luckily my husband was home and able to remove the alarm. I don’t know what would have happened if the dog had been here alone. He was so anxious he was virtually climbing the walls. The worrying fact with the first faulty pair was one alarm chirped once and died. Again we were here to witness this and on testing the alarm found it no longer worked. If we had missed that audible noise we may not have tested the alarm for some time and not realised it wasn’t working. This could have had fatal consequences. I don’t believe these alarms can be trusted with saving someone’s life in the event of a fire. I wouldn’t have give any stars but couldn’t leave a review without checking one of them!
