We did not, but we did wash eggs for about 2 weeks after application.

Has anyone used this on a finch or other small bird inside the house?

I have used it quite a few times on my chickens and it works well. My first reaction is not to use it on a pet bird but I never looked into it either. There are very good products available for caged bird mites, etc. I would just recommend doing some research first.

Yes, I dust the chickens and their coop. It works very well. I add some to their sand box as well. I also recommend dusting in a well ventilated area and wear gloves and a mask.
