Will this work with my denon integrated amp and audio technica turntable for improved sound?

assuming you can turn off the preamp in your turntable and you have a non-phono input available on your integrated amp, this should give you better sound quality

I have a rega planar 1 with some boston speakers and i'm thinking about getting the mani 2. do i need any other equipment to sound pretty decent?

Obviously, you will need a power amplifier and a decent set of analogue phono cables to connect the Mani 2 to your power amplifier. The Planar does not have a ground wire so that should do it. I had a small amount of analog hum and connecting a ground wire between the Mani 2 and my Power amp fixed the problem and it is dead silent. Sound quality from the Mani 2 is dependent on the quality of your phono cartridge. The Mani 2 likes moving coil cartridges and you will get the most out of it with an MC cartridge with the proper input impedance settings on the Mani 2. I have run a few different MC cartridges including Sumiko, Ortofon and Hana. I am currently running a Hana SL which sounds exceptional! Definitely worth the upgrade from the moving magnet carts I was running before and allows the Mani 2 to really shine.
