Light weight, efficient and reasonably priced backpacking stove
I just returned from 8 days on the Appalachian Trail in Georgia. I purchased this stove based on its very light wight, compact design, efficiency and very friendly price. I prepared 2-3 meals per day for the duration of my trip, enjoying hot breakfast and coffee, occasional hot lunches and a hot dinner each evening. Still had fuel remaining in the 4oz fuel cartridge at the conclusion of my trip. My meals were simple to prepare, to save cooking time, and while the pot and pan are small, I had no issues preparing tasty meals. The nonstick coating made clean up easy. Great backpacking stove.

Small and light, uses 100gram 3.5 inch canisters.
First the good: Small and light Burner is powerful Super fast boil time. Packs well for camping/backpacking. The bad: The pots are actually cups, too small for cooking but good for boiling. The system uses the small 3.5-inch canisters for fuel if you want to nest one inside the kit, and depending on conditions, you will use them fast. The burner is not wind proof so the limited fuel will be used faster unless you purchase the Optimus windscreen with it. Overall I was unsure of how well this system would work; the small "pots" just seemed too small for anything other than freeze dried ready meals and 15 oz cans of stuff. The main pot holds a little more than 16 oz and the " frying pan" is a small coffee cup size. In use, the burner boiled 16 oz quite quickly even in a good breeze, it did use around 15grams of fuel but if the Optimus screen was installed it would have used less. The burner will take larger pots if you were actually making food instead of just reheating or rehydrating something. The bigger head on the burner distributed the heat better than some other brands. I like the kit; it will be packed in my Adventure bike saddlebags with a spare 100gr canister, and it will get used to disinfect water and boiling tasks. If space is a premium and you just eat boil water foods, this is hard to pass up as it may meet your needs but get the Optimus windscreen.

Powerful light stove
I'm glad I got this cutie, the 10,200 BTU stove is solid & powerful w/the ability to simmer and pots are 4" diameter, non-stick. I plan to cook rice in the main pot since the 2nd pot can act as a cover and the latter to stir fry stuff. A 110g gas canister fits in main pot [just make sure to wrap w/a small plastic bag so it won't scratch the non-stick], the stove fits inside 2nd pot w/included small bag. A 2nd included larger bag is for the whole system, it's awesome. It was either this or the Fire Maple Petrel but I liked the look of the rounded edged pots & green handles :0)

Great Ultra Lite Stove
Naturally I fired this guy up in my kitchen before I took it out on an adventure but I wanted to include some pictures that would show the Optimus Stove in its best and natural environment. This particular area is down in the Grand Canyon. Over 5 days of boiling water for freeze dried meals, I used 1/4 of a 100 gram can of Jet Boil, not bad. Boils water really fast which is naturally what you want to conserve gas and not have to take multiple or larger size cans of gas. The 100 gram can of Jet Boil fit nicely inside the pots along with the stove burner, can't beat that!, Happy Backpacking!

Very lightweight and small
Very cool, my son said I needed one of these and he was right. The canister was hard to find in the store it was Sports Academy that had them at $4. I was a little bit surprised that the handles didn’t feel more sturdy - I felt like I had to be a little bit careful with it. Overall a great product.

Great little Stove
The cook system is great, just not complete without a couple of additions. You need a stand to steady the fuel cannister and a electronic sparky device to light the stove. Other than that you are ready to go. Seems to be built well and sturdy and easy to operate. A good purchase and I would buy again.

Estoy contento

Love this stove. Used it several times to boil water, make coffee or other foods. Well built. Works amazing. My only improvements would be for the frying pan and pot to twist to a lock and for the measuring units on the side be able to be read from the outside. Other than that I'm super I bought this.

Mein 2.

Nice compact unit. I keep it in the boat to make coffee on the go. Boils water fast.
