NewQ Filehub AC750 Travel Router: Portable Hard Drive SD Card Reader & Mini WiFi Range Extender for Travel | Wireless Access External Harddrive & USB Storage Device to Backup Photo & Files from iPhone

Love, love, love it. I used to off load photos and videos from our dash cam to my phone using an SD card reader. This device does all the sane work without tying up my phone. Now I just take the SD card out of the Dash Cam and plug it into the Hub. Press the backup button and watch all the files transfer over to a 1Tbye USB drive. Hub even has enough battery to power the external USB drive. There is a video review that claims the power connector is Micro USB. That might have been at the time video was posted. My unit came with a USB C connector. Only a couple of minor complaints and one improvement. First complaint is that the throughput when using it as an WiFi extender seems extremely slow. I don't use it much as an extender so it's not that big of deal to me. The second is that the SD card slot broke within first month. I guess removing and inserting SD card a lot did it. I can still read and write data to it, I just can't easily remove card. The button that should eject SD card is stuck in place. Tiny flat head screw driver is now required to remove card. The one improvement I would give it would be to add support for uploading files to Dropbox or One Drive.

I bought this for one feature… The ability to push a button and have the contents of a SD card backed up to an external usb drive. On the first try I plugged in my 4TB usb drive and it didn't give an error it just showed the disk as empty and only 3TB in size. Upon reading the fine print in the included instructions said the max drive size is 3TB on the usb drive. I plugged in a 2TB drive and it worked perfect as advertised (but slow). The app playback of movies is super slow. Playing a 4K video is choppy. Network speed appears to be slower than I’d expected also. If you are buying for the one button backup feature it’s worth it as long as your usb drive is 3TB or less. It is small and portable which I really like for travel.

If you're snatching captures or reeling in vid footage and want to backup your digital art forms (i.e. photos, cinematic vids, etc) or need to free up space on the TF or SD card in the field and on the go for that added assurance, not to mention that peace of mind?!...you absolutely need this digital sorcery in a pocketable encasement! The value, the specs, the features & versatility that the NewQ Filehub AC750 touts is without question a NO-BRAINER! Seriously, transferring your content from SD card to your portable Thumb drive, HDD, or SSD with a push of a button or with a very intuitive proprietary app thru your iPhone or Android is as easy as Lay's Potato Chips! Coz only thing easy about pie is eating it! But a bag of chips goes with any lunch or munch. Anyhow, it is unfathomable how I used to get along without this piece of techno-wizardry, but now that I possess the power of the gods I am invincible! Really, all kidding aside, I stress less about if I have enough memory cards with me if I'm on a shoot, capturing roll, or just refining my craft/enthusiast pursuits and I don't have a bunch of full 32 & 64 GB cards you always seem to keep grabbing on your way out the door! Do good, be gooder, & buy one. Thank me & yourself later.

What can I say? Why does Amazon feature products that don’t work? (And there are TONS of one star reviews here to support this). Amazon must not mind getting TONS of returns. Youtube has a ZILLION positive review videos on this product (believe me, I watched them all). So I thought that all the one star reviews here might have to so with people just not knowing how to use the product. (I have run into this before). Nope, the folks here are RIGHT. This product is GARBAGE! It transferred the files from my SD card to my SSD drive exactly ONCE and that was it. After that, I was presented time and again with the “FAILED TO COPY” message. Tried different SD cards, tried different SSD drives, all to no avail. So, if you’re thinking of purchasing one of these… DON’T! You’ll just end up returning it (like me).

I got this for a very specific purpose – to listen to lectures on an external hard drive through my phone. I’ve used it for a few days now and it has been great. One issue I can see is playing very large files in video. The app crashes every time I do that. However, for anything under a few gigabytes, it seems to work fine.

The unit is small - same size as my portable HDD, which is great for travel. Most importantly, it does exactly what I bought it for: 1. Backing up my SD cards while travelling without a laptop and 2. Backing up photographs from my phone. This review has to include their customer service, which was excellent and very quick to respond to two issues I had. Out of the box, all backups were time-stamped as 1/1/2011 (or something like that). The NewQ's date/time must be set from within the desktop app, which was simple, but not found in documentation. The other item they helped with was that the app could find all the folders on my phone, but no files. I had to go into the App permissions and grant access to photos and music. Again, not found in the documentation, but once they pointed that out, it worked great. I have no need for the router functions of this device, so I can't comment, but based on what I've seen, it should perform that as well. Glad to recommend this device for travelers.

I have done fairly few reviews but wanted to leave one here so others could find out what I discovered (so far). I was looking for a device to back up my SD cards on vacation as I've heard that theft is quite significant where I am going. After considerable searching - this is one of the very few options out there for this purpose. I have not tried the router functionality yet as I have no need for it at the moment. First - everyone should trust other reviews and sites that state that there is no functioning app for the product on iphone - there is definitely not one that I could find. The web access works fine - but even loading the file list on the SD card (half full 128 GB card) was horribly slow - not sure it would have ever finished - making this a "no go" to copy the files to an attached drive. Lastly, I tried the auto function to backup the SD card to the attached SSD. It certainly worked - was pretty slow - but at night in the hotel that will be fine. It added folders to the card and the SSD and created a copy in a dated folder - all good. Now the unknown: What will it do if I add more pictures to the same card and use the auto backup function again - will it copy the first group of pictures a second time or be smart enough not to - I'm kind of betting on the former - will add to this when I do more testing. So - potentially good for what I need - don't want to travel with a computer - so very few options for large SD card backups on long trips with RAW files from a high megapixel camera - but slow. We'll see. Given the lack of a functional app for iphone and the speed - I'd say 2-3 stars max - at lease for the SD backup functionality.

Werkt snel en heel makkelijk. Veel gebruikt tijdens onze reis in Azië om alle videobeelden van de drone en camera te backuppen. Werkt overal en batterijduur is ook top. De juiste aansluitingen zijn er en ook het backup maken zonder telefoon gaat prima.

Per fare un backup ovunque in qualsiasi momento, l'ho preso per quello, ha altre funzioni utilissime, vedi wifi portatile, o powerbank, ma con una pendrive e questo aggeggio la sera si può fare una copia di tutte le foto del giorno. Non velocissimo, ma neanche così lento (dalla mia esperienza siamo sul giga a minuto), calcolando che fa tutto da solo con un tasto o da app va benissimo.

Cette petite machine géniale nous permet de sauvegarder tous nos fichiers vidéos photos etc venants de supports SD, mini SD, USB etc sur un disque dur externe SSD , en utilisant l’appli à télécharger (IOS pour moi mais Google sans soucis). Et tout ça sans utiliser notre laptop, que nous ne prenons plus en voyage , avec soulagement. Nous n’utilisons pas la fonction Internet car pas besoin mais je vais tester juste pour voir. C’est juste un appareil carrément indispensable et incontournable pour le genre de voyageurs que nous sommes. Deux Canon 90 D, un drone, une dash cam, ça en fait des médias à sauvegarder et ça se passe bien et très rapide. Top.
