Then on the inside set your TV's to antenna instead of cable and you should be able to scan for off air channels. **Q: can it be mounted to roof of rv?** A: Hello Jean, This one is specifically meant for portable use. They manufacture the OA1000, OA1001, OA8400, OA8401, OA8500, OA8501, for mounting options for OTA antennas. Let me know if you have any questions on those! **Q: Will plug into in-dash dvd radio head unit? what type of connection?** A: The output of it is coaxial, so unless your dvd/radio has an antenna in that also does the radio you would need a coaxial to radio cable. RV antenna is very directional and often is hard to home in on stations, especially if some stations are in one direction and others in opposite direction. Unit is lightweight and easy to set up and use. One concern I have is keeping it from blowing over during winds. It comes with a heavy magnetic base but I can't use the magnet on the (mostly) aluminum RV.
