I use silicone lubes and they are expensive. Now I squirt in a tiny amount I suck out of the bottle every other day. I use about a quarter of the barrel for "recreational activities". To add lube for general use and recreation I insert it as far as possible, aligning the finger holes with the "crack" for maximum penetration. I lay on my stomach for 10 minutes so it goes in, instead of dripping "out". The local Walmart started carrying Astroglide "X" liquid lube and their "Diamond" gel for less than desertcart's cheapest seller and I mix them together to make a goo that stick and lubes for 3 or 4 days at a time. I used Dawn dishwashing liquid to clean two and superglued then back on the plungers. I let them set for 24+ hours and they work great again. The actual hole that the liquid squirts out of is like 4 millimeters. It can hold about .5oz of liquid at a time. I'm certaint it can hold and push out an ointment. But you will most likely have to stuff it in the tube with the applicator handle. **Q: Is this applicator reusable?** A: Yes it is reusable. You may have to just load a little water in and back out of it to wet the rubber seal of the plunger but then the lube should keep it sealed to load the lube. If you are using a quality lube, a little lube goes a long way so only load about 1 inch in the tube to begin with and adjust up or down from there. **Q: Can this use silicon lubes or only water-based lubes? Will it react to silicon lubes?** A: I use it with silicone lube. The rubbery part on the top of the launcher comes off or breaks off much easier. I bought another brand, gray in color and the end disintegrated on it. I had one where the plastic tab that it is attached broke off too and the end was intact. I put it back on with Super Glue (Locktite) and let the glue set for 24 hours. It is still working now. I use the same different barrels when I clean one every week or so unless it get dirty inside. This thing is a must have for lots of bedroom play, compared to the regular sized launchers this holds far more lube so it really is worth it. It only comes with one 'shell' as opposed to to the regular sized launcher that comes with 3 'shells' and one plunger. I have both this and the regular and I haven't needed to use any of the spare 'shells' so I wouldn't worry about this not coming with extras. This is definitely harder to use with one-hand than the regular sized ones but the difference in capacity makes it worth it without question. Keep in mind, this will react with other materials so keep it stored separately otherwise the plastic will 'melt'.
