RAM MOUNTSBall Adapter for 15W Apple MagSafe RAP-B-202-AP-MAGU with B Size 1" Ball

Long story short…. Your phone case totally makes or breaks this setup. Also, I do love how I can just throw my phone on the puck and it’s mounted and charging, either in portrait or vertical and everything in between.I went down the rabbit hole of car mount research and finally decided to give this setup a try. If you are like me and you want a strong, durable, adjustable, and functional car mount that wirelessly charges your phone at 20 watts then I think you will be very happy with this one. The Apple charger just presses into the adapter and it perfectly fits into any of your RAM type B, 1” balls. You will need a 20 watt charger with USB C to plug the Apple charger into to get the full 20 watts. The real key here is to get a phone case that has a strong enough magnet to hold your phone in place while driving on rough roads. I would say the CloudValley case would be the minimum you need for this with the Phone Rebel case being ideal. The original Apple MagSafe case should be somewhere in the middle of those so that should be fine too. Other honorable mentions are the Mous or Magbak cases which seem to have strong magnetic connections as well. Depending on where you drive, you might be able to get away with a bit less magnetism. I drove about 100 miles on south Louisiana roads, which I consider to be some of the worst in the country, and I only had it fall off once while using the CloudValley case. It was a giant pothole that I hit going 50 mph and I think it nearly broke my truck. For normal roads with smaller potholes, speed bumps, and such, I think the CloudValley or better will produce zero drops.

I've been using RAM Mounts for many years. Started using them on my motorcycles and it NEVERfailed on me. The mounts are of high quality materials, making for a super secure mount on whatever it was designed for.The MagSafe puck is very secure with a very, very nice snug fit. In oreder to remove the MagSafe puck, there's a small hole on the backside to stick a blunt stick in to push the puck out safely. Very well thought out and explains why the puck is so secure, but not permanent. With the 1" ball mounting system, I'm able to swap around all my RAM Mount accessories between motorcycles, bicycles, kayaks, and car.

I use this at my desk on an arm with other RAM and photographic gear. This holds my Apple charger, which then holds my phone at eye level for work and personal calls. Video calls for work were draining my phone, but now I just set my phone in place, get on the call and the wireless charging offers just enough to slowly charge my phone during those calls. This RAM mount for Apple's charger is perfect, works like any RAM product and holds the Apple puck very securely. I was initially concerned that the puck would come out when I pulled my phone away, but it's in there so firmly that it stays in place. Great RAM product, like usual. Highly recommended.

I was sick of having to squeeze spring-loaded phone mounts every time I wanted to put the phone up or take it down. The magnet mount works great, holds very securely. The MagSafe adapter fits very tightly in the mount, no concern with it popping out.

I got this for use in a van that goes offroad. I had a clamp hold but it was annoying since I take the phone when I leave, and it required two hands to free the iPhone, and even then I'd hit buttons.This mount works IF your case and phone can be held well enough by the Apple Magsafe puck. Mine does, an ETR.Also, note the puck fits tightly within this mount. I thought it might fit loosely enough to easily remove the puck, but no dice. It's possible, but not something you'd do often. OTOH, it means it's super secure. That puck isn't going to lift out via magnets or even a moderate cable tug.So a typically good RAM product. And it can be moved to other RAM mounts, no fiddling with vents, etc. Really a great combo.

Works well, be careful of the roads not smooth, it will launch your phone.

Ram did an excellent job (as usual) making something that does what it's supposed to (in this case, securely hold an Apple MagSafe puck). However, the Apple MagSafe itself isn't really strong enough to reliably use in a car. I have an iPhone 15 Pro Max in a slim Otterbox case, and the MagSafe will hold the phone under most on-pavement conditions, but if you go over a severe pothole or off road, the phone WILL fall off. Also, the phone will tend to want to rotate sideways with each small bump in the road. I was really hoping to find a MagSafe charger that works for mobile use, but looks like I'll have to go back to a standard magnet/plate and charge with a cable.

The mounting situation for the new Bronco was not easy, especially if you have multiple devices. I tried a few different 1/4” tripod mounts and iPhone holders. None really worked except the magnetic, because of limited positioning options with screw ons. What I end up with was the medium arm RAM mount and this holder, which fits the iPhone charger perfectly. This is the best solution I found, with a 2nd charger port for the Lux addition that takes that special end Apple uses. I’ll add a pic soon.

The Apple magsafe charger does not hold well in this mount you have to stick it with some tape anyways which is a disappointment.
