Work well on: Ice. Snow pack. Snow covered ice. Does not work well on: Slippery concrete, asphalt or tarmac. (if there is a thin sheet of black ice on these surfaces since it needs a bit of something to grab into) Material: The silicon is stretchy, and durable and is much easier to put on and take off than rubber. They fit well and do not slip or come off the shoe on their own. The silicon stays flexible in very cold weather and does not break as easily like rubber will. Suggestions: Try them on and test them in a variety of conditions BEFORE you need them. These are safety gear which the whole point is to help keep you safer. That kind of gear is not much good unless you KNOW they are ready to perform when you need them. Overall: good quality build, provide goo slip resistance, easy to use. recommended over other types with rubber construction.

They fit on my work boots stretch very easy

I ordered the XL size and used them on size 10 boots. The velcro strap was not long enough to make it around the center of the boot. I used them without the strap. They fell off in the first 10 minutes of walking on the ice (lake).

This is my second pair. I gave the last pair to my son in law. These are the absolute best product on the market and well worth the investment. No more slipping and falling and risking an injury.

They work good for traction and grip until you try to turn or pivot your feet under traction. After a while they would slip off my boots heel and I would constantly have to readjust them. I ended up just taking them off and not using them most of the day. The material is kind of flimsy but they do work just make sure you note that they can slip off easy.

I own a similar product which works decently, but has a lot fewer smaller spikes, which wore down. These have a lot more spikes and the spikes are a lot larger. These grip the ice a lot better than my old ones, partly due to the fact that the spikes are spread out over a large area to the edges of the shoe. The rubber is fairly thick and seems fairly high quality. I think it should be quite durable. The strap is a nice touch, but you might not need to use it if you are at the higher end of the size range, depending on the shape of your shoe. I feel like they are helpful with my waterproof shoes, but these fit my hiking boots so well even without the strap. Most of my waterproof shoes are size 10, so I bought the Large size (Men 8-11). I would recommend going with the X-Large size for anyone with size 11 or larger. These fit my waterproof shoes well, but on my hiking boots, the rear spikes are in the arch of the shoe, not the heel. The storage pouch is a nice touch for being able to keep these in my backpack without scratching anything with the spikes. I haven't tested this yet, but the material looks like it might be water resistant as well.

Easy to put on and take off, work well on ice

I like these and they perform really well in terms of grip. I am an avid hiker however and the rubber around the crossover strap on the bottom seems to rip fairly quickly. I have not been able to get more than 50 or so km per pair. I am on my second pair this winter I like them. Might see if I can find something a little more durable.

the best crampons! Forget the hex head cleated crampons. They are useless on glare ice. The hex head cleats rust unless they are stainless. Sfee crampons are clusters of stainless spikes. They are great. Also the crampons come with a velcro strap which insures they don't fall off.

UPDATE: I initially gave this product a great review after going for a few walks on ice. Although they seem to be ok for light walks after shoveling snow the cleats started to come off. Three so far on one. It seems the cleats are so big that they cannot handle the movement of shoveling and rip off easy under moderate use. If you are buying these for walks they might be ok but anything that requires movement other than that they are not recommended. Seeing as how I would expect these to be more durable. at least for shoveling the driveway they are not recommended in this case. I take walks down a ravine that leads to the river. There is a fairly steep hill that glazes over in ice making it very difficult walking down and back up. So after wiping out I decided to get a pair of these. Unlike my older pair which are basically small machine bolts which don't bite in, these are amazing. They slipped on easy and feel very secure. Plus they come with a Velcro strap for extra safety. The spikes are riveted and have a star shaped pattern that grips at every angle. I feel so much safer when I step down the icy hill. You can feel the crunch of the spikes dig in. Going up the hill is even easier. When it gets a little damp and then the temperature drop makes the ice glaze up, no one is out walking except me and my new grips! The only thing that was a little confusing was putting the straps on, I have seen comments where others think the Velcro was not put on properly. But if you study the pictures you will get how they loop in. So far these have made my winter walks a lot safer and I can go out in any icy conditions. These will make shoveling my steeper driveway a lot safer too!
