Intruder 16000 The Better Mousetrap, Pack of 2

I hate that I’m writing this review for mouse traps, of all things, but these are great. I live in a log home deep in the woods. Unfortunately, it isn’t completely mouse-proof and I struggle to keep the population down. These are easily the best mouse traps I’ve ever used. They kill quickly and efficiently, without the gore of some of the other gross kinds with teeth. I have some of those, too, but for whatever reason, the mice tend to go to these, and they catch mice 20 times more often than those other brands do. And no, I’m not paid by the company, I promise. These really do work well. I should mention that set up and disposal are a breeze. Old school mouse traps always scared me because I was afraid I would break a finger. These you simply open with little to no effort, and there is almost no way to accidentally hurt yourself. And best of all, you can use these over and over again. 100% worth the price.

So easy to use. You get good value for the money. Anytime I’ve set one, I’ve killed one so I’d say it’s an effective trap. Make sure not to put too much of whatever your using as bait because the weight will snap it closed. Also make sure to put bait it far enough back so the mouse has to go into the trap!

I have had a mouse that has been the bane of my existence since November. I got all this guys friends with regular traps. This guy? He'd wiggle himself out of the trap went off or steal the food without the trap going off!! I've been going INSANE. I used a plastic fork and put peanut butter in the instead of this trap and that did the trick. No more mouse!!

Ordered on Jan 3rd and was supposed to receive it on Jan 6th. It was finally delivered on Jan 12th. I do shipping and receiving for my job so I completely understand problems can occur and I'm not upset for the delay. Plus it gave my 2 little guests more time to live out their lives to do what they want. The 1 star is for these traps not working. I tested the traps on every side the mouse could enter to reach the bait and the traps were very sensitive to the touch with a knife. I even put the peanut butter in the middle as far back on the bait tray to where the mouse had no choice to touch the bait tray. I guess the mouse must of ate before I set the 2 traps b/c the PB was on the trap at least 24 hrs later. I decided to move the traps last night to different spots I've seen the mouse run to. Well I wake up this morning to check the traps. They were still set but the PB was gone on both traps. One trap showed no signs of PB on it so the mouse must of licked it clean. Right now these traps are just buffet tray for the mouse to dine on. I will try less PB and do more testing on the sensitivity of the traps but as of right now these get 1 star since these are advertised as mousetraps, not mice dinnerware. Will update later.

We bought a house that had been vacant for over a year and the home inspector called it an infestation of mice in the attic. We called around to pest control companies and all the companies but one used poison. We did not want the smell of dead mice and we did not want to pay the one company that trapped to come out every day to check traps. A friend who lives in the country recommended the Intruder, so we bought a total of eight traps. We baited with peanut butter and used thin copper wire to wrap around and anchor each trap to a rock. We spaced them around the two entries to our attic. Every day we caught mice and in about a week and half the traps were empty and the mice are all gone. Only one trap seemed to keep snapping shut without getting a mouse and the bait was always still there. The others worked perfectly and we could not have been more relieved to have our problem solved. We used gloves and face mask when dealing with the dead mice because of potential disease and wrapped them up well for disposal. The traps have an easy release so we never had to touch the dead mice, but taking protective measures is still smart. The label says that you can wash these and reuse and so we still have ours. Clean up was really easy under hot running water in the garage sink and we never had any dead mouse "ick." The mice were always dead, but completely intact, no blood or anything. The traps arrived really fast and we highly recommend these.

Yo so this mofo mouse was all up in my business. Raiding my pantry and leaving his poop marks and spraying his tags all over my containers. I was like enough is enough with this guy. He was raiding all times at night. 3 am, 6am, midnight didnt matter. Not to mention he ate all my christmas chocolate and was bragging about it. Leaving all the empty wrappers and shells in my face like "sucka!!". I called pest control. They plugged the holes and put out some poison traps. Still, the mofo was still finding food and getting into all my snacks. One time at 3am we had a battle with a broom. I slapped him but he kept on running under my oven. Dudes a bauce. Finally, I bought these things. I give it 4 stars because the package was missing one trap. However, first night I slapped some Teddy's PB (dosesnt get hard) on this thing and put it right by the wall. Woke up and BAM! I finally caught him. Now my life feels whistless, my enemy is gone. But the traps worked like a charm!

i admit, i was really skeptical when they first arrived. i read the instructions and set them up, but they would not go off at first. if you flip the trap over there are two small legs, mine had fallen out during transit and because of this the trap didn't work. I fit the legs behind the housing (into the grooves) and tried it again. this time it worked like a charm. the traps aren't super sensitive, you can lightly tap on the tongue and it will not go off. i didn't think it was going to work to tell the truth, but I've caught three mice in 2 days so far. it seems that since they don't go off so easily the mice tend to get more aggressive trying to get the peanut butter out. in my opinion other than the catch and release traps this is more humane than the super sensitive ones that trap limbs instead of waiting for the whole head to go in. I've actually reused the traps like they said, but I did rinse them and the peanut butter off (then disinfected my sink) and reapply. i have nothing but good things to say, for better or worse... it's a great innovation/evolution to an age old device.

Our yard has suddenly become vole central. Tunnels everywhere, but the worst part is they are killing shrubs and other plants. I am terrified of regular Victor style mousetraps. They always go off just as I set it down and scare the hell out of me. I worry about other animals getting snapped in them, particularly my toy poodle who loves peanut butter as much as a mouse does. This style is so easy. You pinch the back end and it opens like a clothes pin. Smear a little peanut butter inside and wait. I've gotten 3 voles in 12 hrs. Now my yard is becoming a vole graveyard. I will buy more and put them in my cellar to get their cute little mouse cousins. UPDATE a few days later: They are now springing my traps without getting caught in them. I will try tying bits of apple or prune to the inside to make it harder to eat the bait and run. I read that voles may sense when a relative has gotten trapped. Or they detect human scent. The thing is, they do lick off the peanut butter so it's not like they are shy of the trap. I have 6 more traps arriving today. I have to figure out the baiting issue or else resort to a weapon of mass destruction. Like the exhaust pipe from my car.

Well, I wasn't sure how well the traps would work. They are very easy to set. You can put peanut butter on the trap easily, (my preferred bait). Today was the first time I used the traps, after seeing a mouse in the house. Woo hoo! It worked perfectly!

A bit jumpy to set but good to reuse a few times

Very effective. But you might need to screw to floor as they are light and move sometimes take them off with them!
