The Husky and His White Cat Shizun: Erha He Ta de Bai Mao Shizun (Novel) Vol. 1

I caught snatches of this story from fans online and wished to read the whole thing. This is Volume 1 and it came in good condition. A tale of obsessional love that would give 'Wuthering Heights' a run for its money, it is truthful in a way that a Victorian author would not have been permitted to be in their day. It starts with an end as we join Taxian Jun, evil Emperor who is preparing for his death. His enemies are howling at his gate but he does not care. This cruel, despotic, abusive, blood soaked villain (who has just recently boiled his wife) is making his final pain-riven goodbye. He is thirty years old and all meaning, if there ever was any, died with his teacher, Chu Wanning, the man he humiliated and mistreated and hounded to his demise. He lays himself down in the grave he has dug under the haitung tree where he and his Shizun first met and feels the petals fall on his face as he dies. It is one of the loneliest departures in literature. And then he wakes up....! How could anyone put this story down. It is a great read and full of fascinating imagination and I love the characters. I have read Volume 2 (and commented elsewhere). It is an epic tale.

I have already bought everything I could from Mo Xiang Tong Xiu's novels... I didn't know if other books from Seven Seas would be as equally exquisite and beautiful as those ones, but I happily found out that my little anxiety was in vain. At this point, I hardly doubt any book published from Seven Seas would be much less than perfect. Everything, from the cover, to the amazing drawings, even the last part of the book dedicated to pronunciation, names and other things are so delicately put together that my little heart almost can't contain their beauty. I had already read the book online before... and I clearly remember there was one part which was genuinely translated well, while the other half nearly made me give up reading. Luckily I didn't, I finished the whole thing. And I must say, even as I am a bit skeptical with its ending, the story is so good that it's definitely worth a try. You'll get entangled in the story no matter what. And even if I need to wait for the other ones to be published, no matter what, I'm still going to buy them... even if I already know everything. I read it so long ago, my heart longed for it and I couldn't resist starting reading it all over again... gotta say the author did absolutely an amazing job with this one masterpiece.

Trust me when I say it's all worth it, I'm already on book 7. Didn't expect some of the twists. I thought it would be horrible cause of what some people said but by the end of this book I had already ordered the 2. Book came in perfect condition

El libro esta muy bonito, con las primeras paginas a color, y varias ilustraciones en blanco y negro en su interior. Aunque llego con una hoja doblada, pero en el paquete venían otros 2 libros y esos llegaron en perfectas condiciones, ademas llegaron 1 día antes de la fecha establecida. Disfruté mucho leyendo el primer volumen de esta historia. Mo Ran es un poco desesperante como protagonista, ya que es demasiado denso para captar sus emociones, pero creo que es parte del "encanto" del personaje. Me gusto mucho Chu Wanning, aunque también es muy malo expresando sus emociones. La historia siempre se mantuvo emocionante. Y el final fue muy interesante, con ganas de continuar con el segundo volumen.

Being new to the danmei genre, and having fallen in love with MXTX's TGCF and MDZS, I thought I'd try this series out... mostly because they were on sale. OMG. Seriously next level!! The storytelling is freaking amazing and the characters are really compelling. I could not stop reading and was glad I'd also ordered Vol 2 at the same time, because there is no way I wanted to wait. The storyline is definitely a little... uhm... dark, may be the right word. If you want all sunshine and unicorns farting rainbows, then look elsewhere. If you can handle a bit of vengeful rough love, interspersed with tender heart wrenching moments, then dive right in. You will not be disappointed.

Le livre est massif comme les suivants. La mise en page est bien réalisée et aérée. Les dessins se trouvant à l'intérieurs sont sublimes et vraiment soignés, ce qui explique leur faible nombre - ce que je regrette mais accepte en échange d'une telle qualité. L'édition est vraiment belle. Le livre (et le second tome) est plus gros que les autres danmei de SevenSeas, jusqu'à présent. La traduction est de très bonne qualité et les bonus à la fin de chaque tome est un vrai plus, permettant de se remettre dans le bain, d'avoir des précision concernant certains contextes etc... L'histoire quant à elle reste très intéressante, mais certaine pas à mettre entre toutes les mains. Coup de cœur !
