very effective but a bit messy
This material is very light and fluffy when removed from it's bag. It worked as described to remove the tiny sequestered metal particles after treatment although my pressure reading did not increase much at all. I have cartridge filters so I removed the filters for cleaning after a few days of circulation. The fibers formed a thick coating over the filters and removing them was a messy procedure. I pressure washed the filter cartridges and replaced them. The filter system returned to normal operation. I would not hesitate to use this material again if the need arises.

Bag was sliced
I haven't put this product in my DE filter yet, next filter clean. The bag was sliced by a sharp blade and powder was leaking. I weighed bag and it was close to the right amount so I taped it and kept it. I don't like how they make amount needed to replace the DE so complicated. Just give the amounts needed for a 48 Sq ft filter, etc.. It would be easier to provide just the weight of fiber needed for each size D.E. filter. As far as your instructions all it mentions is a D.E scoop. My D.E. scoop is 3 cups or ½ lb. of D.E. Weight of fiber is not mentioned, it would be better than guessing depending onon a scoop size. What is someone uses a coffee can? I'm not sure yet how much to put in initially and how much is needed to recharge the filter grids after a backwash. I hope I bought the right size. Make it easier where no math is needed. I will rate again after my Filter needs cleaning and I'm actually using this product. I've tried other brands and I liked them.

It helps your sand filter
My cartridge filter cracked last year so I went to a big sand filter this season. Water was clear but not as clear as it had been the year before so I added a little of the fiber filter stuff and 24 hours later it got its sparkle back

Works great for my sand filter
I added 4 ounces to my 24’x48” above ground pool skimmer with sand filter and the water is now crystal clear. I had issues with my filter not filtering out fine particles especially when vacuuming.

Going to stick with DE powder
Really wasn't a fan. We were having alot of issues with phosphates so didn't last long until I had to clean the filter again. Expensive for one run. DE powder is just so much less money. It was easy to use. I believe it's a quality product if water being filtered is durable . It does function well.
