**Q: Does it work on a shag carpet?**
A: We have a thick wool carpet that our last rug cleaner savaged as it cleaned. After a cleaning the rollers would be red from the accumulated rug fibers it had dislodged.
     On the same carpet, our new Hoover picked up a LOT of dirt the previous cleaner missed, and there were NO red carpet fibers in its brushes.
     A thorough cleaning of our living room carpet we thought we were going to have to throw out was dramatic. The matted areas where there was a lot of traffic returned to their luxurious depth.

**Q: I’m chiefly wanting a machine to thoroughly clean the carpet on my stairs. Don’t see many mentions of this. Is the tank big enough?**
A: I really love this machine.  It cleans really well.  I like it because you can adjust the thickness of the area you will be cleaning.  Great product

**Q: How heavy is this shampooer?**
A: It's not that heavy but it's hard to push and pull.

**Q: Does this have an attachment for shampooing steps?**
A: It has an attachment for upholstery which would work for stairs. Not sure how long the hose is, though so it might require lifting the machine up the stairs.
