This oximeter works okay, is easily understood, and the batteries that came with it were charged. It does seem to measure O2 levels lower than they probably actually are. They were consistently just above 90 on several tries during the first hour after I opened it. That isn't going to bother me much as I can mentally adjust for low readings if they are consistently low. Won't bother returning it. I would likely replace it with another brand if/when that time comes, though.
