It's not because it weighs down your hair. If you put too much, it makes your hair easily tangible. Not sure how else I can better explain that. But if you put this product in your hair and flip your hair upside down for a quick flash of heat, it works or rather is activated with heat, This product automatically thickens every single strand of hair you have.
