These guns are of sturdy plastic construction and should last and perform quite well as a kids toy . However , the claim of being capable of a range of 30 feet is wildly inaccurate . I have tested both guns over a measured distance and they are capable of an average 15 feet ; if you angle the trajectory upward in a good following wind it can reach 20 feet and no more . If a 30 foot range is important to you , you will be disappointed with this product .

I bought these to apply a biocide solution to some white fascia on my house roof which I can’t get access to. The water jet easily reached the 12 foot distance and the green algae growing there was destroyed. Mission accomplished!

Both guns leaked water from plastic seams from first use. Wouldn’t hold water - avoid.

Great range, smooth action, precision made, doesn't leak either one, liquid stays in gun and doesn't evaporate out. It's a pump action so it requires 2 hands to operate. Doesn't use an air-pressure tank, but stream is powerful and sustained without one. Good liquid holding capacity. Large fill opening so it is easy to refill. A fine quality, basic gun. Couldn't be happier. Shoots about 25 feet like they say.

Needed something to get the dogs to quit barking - so I thought - hey - how about a water gun. These little water guns can shoot from my back porch to the fence - with a slight arch. Probably a little further than the 30 feet stated on the box. They do leak a little, but I have a small pitcher (aka holster) I put these into. Not sure that makes me an official cowboy or not, but I may look for some spurs next. Now - I leave the door open and let the dogs out. I hear a bark, I walk out, show them the water gun, and they stop barking and come running back inside. It is kind of like playing angry birds - get to judge the arc, amount of pressure, speed of water flow, and more. There is no trigger on this, but water comes flying out with the white pump item on the bottom - kind of like reloading the shotgun. So so so much fun. I find I am also starting to wear camouflage clothing during the day, a bright orange hat (in case the neighbors have water guns) and sneak out the door to be able to "water the backyard" while the dogs bark. Back to the water gun - solid so far. Plastic is hard and you probably get 5 or 6 shots off of one water load. For me, the less than $15 price tag has been worth it. Have had a blast. As far as shooting kids in the pool - although does sound like a good time - the water stream is pretty strong - I would not recommend hitting them in the face. I guess that is it for now. Would definitely buy these again. Would not recommend for deer or bear hunting, but for pool play or barking dogs - it has been perfect!
