Larousse Student Dictionary French-English/English-French (French and English Edition)

My 7 year old daughter was THRILLED to finally receive this dictionary after having had to use a tiny little blue on for most the year. We love the way the words are so easy to find and in big font with yellow highlight. Brilliant for young students and adults who choose not to use dictionaries with tiny font!

This is a wonderful dictionary for the learning and self-teaching student of French such as myself. It is my continual go-to as I explore the language as a beginner. I also have the Merriam-Webster French-English dictionary, but it is there to fill in for words that are not in smaller repertoire of the Larousse Student Dictionary, and its entries in those situations are so (quite reasonably given its scope) cryptic that I wish for the richness of the Larousse. Also, the type face, layout, and color/bold emphasis are all also wonderfully kind to my eye and mind. I am totally pleased with this purchase.

Bought this for my granddaughter - I am teaching her French by long distance - on an I phone. Combined this with a French for Dummies disc set, and then we make it up from there. Great pictures and clear definitions. Only thing it is lacking is French verbs and we need that - has only English irregular ones.

I like this dictionary a lot because you can actually learn English or French language in this book. I encourage anyone who wants to learn French should buy this Larousse student dictionary.

This is a great dictionary for a student or teacher as well. I like the fact that there is a two-color design and that makes it easier to find the word you are looking for. It is very simple and so easy to use. There is also extra information for a complete learning experience. There are also 1,000 themed color illustrations to make learning more fun and easy.

I LOVE this dictionary! It is quite easy to read and offers excellent and thorough definitions, with ample examples of word usage in brief sentences or phrases. The graphics are outstanding as well. The only shortcoming is that because it is a student dictionary, some more esoteric words are missing (I have another standby dictionary for those).

늦은 나이에 공부하기가 어려움!

I highly recommend this dictionary. It is a terriffic help for anyone who needs help remembering what a French word means when they are doing a lesson or homework or whatever. This is the best French dictionary I have seen. It also has pages with pictures for basic everyday French words. Buy it!

サイズが大きく携帯にやや不便であるが、内容は初級者に使いやすいく良い辞典である。

It is a great dictionary. Nice paper, good font, lots of examples of different use of the words. Sizable, but easy to hold in hands even for kids. Several pages of nice colorful picture dictionary on various topics inserted in the middle. I prefer using this one myself in comparison to my own "adult" dictionary! If you are looking for a printed dictionary vs or in addition to online ones, you will not regret choosing this one!

The dictionary is awesome, very nice paper quality, light weight, good font size and words are highlighted for easy view. Packaging was bad, only in Amazon bag, seller should have wrapper the book in bubble wrap atleast, my book corners are damaged :(

My 11-yr-old daughter on being immersed in French for the first time, and finding out that Dad can actually help her with it, first borrowed my huge Larousse, and being drowned, asked for something simpler. This is it. Lots of help with grammar, idioms, petites boites avec histories, etc. We are working through Le Petit Prince with the French original and the English translation, and she delights in M. St Exupery's put-downs of adults. (An accusation en famille is now 'tu est une champignon!"). Small enough to be carried in a back pack, and easily coupled with the complete edition. Formidable!
