KastKing Rover Round Baitcasting Fishing Reel, 90 Size, Right, Red

Seems to be well made, very smooth operation. Gears are a soft brass, not bronze. (Which is a concern, I've stripped the spindle gear on other Chinese reels before) My concern was the size. It's hard to tell with Amazon descriptions and having gone too small in the past I wanted a moderately sized surf reel and ordered the Rover 90. This thing is huge. About the same size as a Penn Senator 114. It would make a decent boat reel for offshore if the gears held up. I'm going to have to return it and go at least two sizes smaller.

The Rover 90, I purchased, has met all of expectations for a fishing reel in this price range. It is well assembled. It is fairly tight, with very little "slop." The reel casts and retrieves extremely smooth. The reel is a heavy reel that needs to be used with a medium heavy, or heavy rod which is at least Seven Feet. A rod Eight - Ten Feet will work great. The metal construction is almost a thing of the past. However, being a bit "old school" I appreciate that feature. This reel will handle fairly large terminal tackle and bait. Make to adjust the cast control accordingly. Remember, this is a big reel and get ready for a workout if you do a moderate amount of bank fishing. Myself, I would buy it again. I like it!

This is my 2nd KastKing Rover Round Baitcasting Reel and that says a lot about this awesome product. It's very easy to use and very smooth. The quality is nice. Looking at this reel one would think it is very expensive but no it is not. The price is cheap for this quality. When is comes reels and braided lines, I only use KastKing. The prices of their products are affordable and the quality of their products are very good. I have a total of about 8 different KastKing reels and I probably have all braided lines with different lbs. I will continue using KastKing reels and braided lines.

Almost an amazing product. One survived a rough beach trip the other did not. They cast smooth and seem solid. Durability is lacking. Or at least consistent durability. My Penn level wind has made 5 week long trips to the beach. One of these didn’t make one trip. The Penn cast better has a better drag and is way more robust. More expensive but not much. Probably talking extra $20. I vote Penn no over these for the surf. Should make excellent catfish or bass reels.

Smooth. I own many Abu Garcia including 7000 C3's and their similar in performance. Don't let picky Pete and his unreachable expectations discourage you from purchasing it. I don't baby my gear. I use them on catfish and it can handle the abuse of being thrown in the back of a truck, thrown in a boat, and easily bring in big cats smoothly. No noise or hang ups in the worm gear ECT. I'll recommend them and purchased 2 more after trying out the first reel.
