I've had this product for almost a year now and have repurchased it a handful of times now and I can honestly say, for my cat, this works wonders and is truly worth the price. I was recommended this by a vet because my cat had a problem with overgrooming, and since this is a single cat household, I was told this may help ease her anxiety. Since using this, my cat has slowed her overgrooming, and has become much more social able and friendly than she was before. She's not nearly as territorial either. I've never had any problems with it leaking, it has next to no smell, and it doesn't get very hot. The only thing I will note, is that it doesn't last a full month. It runs out closer to around 20-25 days.

After reading reviews,I decided to give this a try. I have 5 cats and 2 of them would fight and stalk each other as well as mark territory. I had tried other things and was really going crazy cleaning up after them. This product worked for us. Within a few days of plugging it in I noticed a huge difference. The marking STOPPED and the fighting is next to nothing now. I'm relieved and it's like peace is back in the house.

I had tried Feliway Multicat in the past when we adopted a new kitty, and our resident cat felt his territory was shrinking. We used it in 2 different points in our 1050-sq. ft. apartment to ensure coverage, and it seemed to marginally make a difference. I wasn't exactly sold on Feliway (were these improvements coincidental?), but wasn't disappointed either (a change in behavior did occur within 48 hours of plugging the Multicat in, so... maybe?). Fast forward to this fall, and my boyfriend is out of town for 2 months taking care of family things back home. Our cat Bubba is most bonded with him rather than me, so the absence has been stressing B-Man out big-time. He became constipated, only doing his business every 2-3 days (abnormal for him). Our vet ruled out medical concerns, and all my other attempts to de-stress him did not work. Adding pure pumpkin puree to his food didn't do much, either (besides annoy Bubba that his food was tasting different). Desperate, the internet's declarations that Feliway Classic helps with stress convinced me to drive to a local pet store and get some that day. All Petco had in stock, however, was 1 refill of Feliway Optimum. I did some research on the fly on my phone, decided that Optimum's new formula of multiple pheromones in one sounded effective and intriguing, and made the sale. I kid you not, I plugged this product in on a Monday evening, and Tuesday evening, Big Man pooped. Wednesday evening, he pooped again. Thursday afternoon, more scooping action for me. 1x/day was much more Bubba's usual litterbox schedule. So I decided that, holy cow, a new product might actually work for once, "it wasn't just a scam!", and ordered 2 more on Amazon (again, full coverage for our apartment, as 1 diffuser can do up to 700 sq. ft. MAX - keep this in mind when purchasing). I 've had 2 Optimum diffusers going while my boyfriend is gone, and Bubba has been less mopey, more playful, and much more regular. I'm hoping we won't need them once my boyfriend is back, as $50/month for 2 is steep, but I wouldn't swap this out for anything, not even Feliway Classic and certainly not another brand. Plus, Amazon has it here for $25/refill, and it was $38/refill at Petco, so this is still much better!! This item gave Bubba the relief he needed, so it's worth every penny to me. Side notes: I already owned 2 of the regular Feliway diffusers from our brief stint with using Multicat - the Optimum refills DO fit into a regular diffuser, you do not need to buy the special Optimum diffuser with the LED light if you don't wish to. Also, the diffuser creates an oily film on all items directly around it - I have one in our kitchen, and had to throw away the oven mitt hanging by it because the mitt became coated in wet tacky Feliway oil which did not come out in the washing machine. They can def. be a bit messy, so clear a square foot or two directly around them. Yes, they also make a shiny film on the wall by the outlet they're in. I'll do anything for my kitty and just wipe it clean when it gets noticeable, but if you're looking at using these for the duration of your cat's life, bear this in mind. Overall: diffusers can be a bit messy, seems expensive but Amazon is actually way cheaper than anywhere else, and this product is the real deal. Just try it for a month, see if it helps. I'm sure glad that I did. <3

This product is amazing. We have two cats that do not get along at all. They hiss at each other and fight whenever they see each other. We decided to try the FELIWAY Optimum. We bought two for our house. It has calmed out cats down so much. They actually slept on the same chair today! I would give it a try if you have cats that seem to need some calming.

I'm giving this 5 stars because I noticed a difference in my cats within a day of using them for the first time. The fighting stopped and the bullying stopped. The anxiety symptoms went away. There was a noticeable calm in the house and it was great. Fast forward a few months and it no longer works. We are right back to where we were before we started using it. I think cats develop an immunity to whatever kind you use. These may work again for us after we have taken a break from them. The thing is, they are crazy expensive and I have never seen a sale on them anywhere. It's a lot of money to spend, hoping that they will start working again. While they initially helped with fighting and bullying issues, they never did do anything about spraying problems. In all fairness, I haven't found a brand that has helped with that. As other reviewers have mentioned, these do leak oil. I haven't had oil on the floor or on the walls but the diffuser gets covered in it and then hair gets stuck to it. You have to wipe the diffusers off once or twice a week. Again, 5 stars because they truly worked better than any brand I have tried for the first 2 months. I wouldn't give 5 stars for longevity or for price. My cats have had a little break from Feliway Optimum so I would try them again, hoping for the initial result, if they ever go on sale.

The product seems to work just fine. My cat had a good day the first full day I had it in his room. The problem was when I checked the unit this morning there was a puddle of liquid under the unit, and the unit was only 2/3 full. It's a good thing I have tile in that room, because it surely would have ruined carpet. The liquid is kind of oily.

I know every cat is different…..but this was wonderful for mine! Bought this after noticing some irritation, withdrawal, and even slight aggression (towards my other two cats) from the world’s SWEETEST cat. We had just moved and she’s always done super well with moving, I just feel like she lost her “spark“ as she is always the most affectionate cat who loves sleeping in my bed and cuddling up on the couch. About a week after moving she stopped sleeping with me all night, spent most of the day in her cat tree, picked fights with her siblings (that she can’t win), was throwing up her food right after eating which is her classic anxiety “tell”. I know my cats, and I knew this wasn’t medical. I could tell she was having a hard time adjusting. I plugged this in and within 2 days she’s my girl again!!! Playful, ALL OVER ME, purring and trilling, not picking fights, much more active. Very very very happy. Also, I have no issue with my plug getting hot!

I was initially skeptical about this product. My senior cat had developed a persistent habit of pulling out clumps of fur from the area near his tailbone. After a thorough veterinary evaluation, the issue was attributed to a nerve condition and treated with steroids. Remembering that I had used this product years ago, I decided to try it again to see if the behavior might have a psychological component. To my surprise, the results have been remarkable. Since reintroducing the diffuser, my cat has completely stopped pulling out his fur. On the rare occasions I’ve noticed the behavior return, it has always coincided with the diffuser being empty. Once replaced, the behavior ceases again. The difference is undeniable. The only minor drawback is that the diffuser can leave a slight oily residue on nearby walls, which may require occasional cleaning. However, given the positive impact on my cat’s well-being, this is a small concern. I now ensure the diffuser is placed in an open area and monitor for buildup. I can confidently say this product has made a significant difference and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND it to other pet owners facing similar issues.
