Works Well, Great Reception, Able to Set-up in About 20 minutes
I purchased this item used from Olson Trading Post. It arrived faster than promised. It was packed well, packaging was not damaged and it included a 25' coaxial cable and instruction booklet. I hooked it up to my Wally. After about 20 minutes, I was watching TV. I had a hard time receiving the 129 satellite with the PL7000 Playmaker, so many of the channels were not in HD. I instructed the Pathway unit to look for the eastern arc satellites and it locked on all of them with no issue. Now I am able to receive all the HD channels. Cosmetically, the face of the unit was scratched up pretty bad, which had me concerned. But so far, it has functioned well and I have a good signal.

Really works well!! I can definitely recommend this portable satellite antenna
This has been an awesome addition to my camper. I use it with the portable tripod stand and anchor it down up on the roof. I was putting it all on the ground but I was worried that it would grow legs and run off :) It works as it should, automatically searching the sky for the DISH network satellites. The software to do that is on the VIP 211z receiver that I also purchased at the same time as this antenna. The antenna is powered by the receiver. I have it connected with a 25 foot coax cable that came with the receiver. I have very little issues with storms interfering with reception, maybe only once did this happen. One time someone walked in front of it, when I had it set up on the ground, and it lost the picture for a few seconds, I guess you could say that that is sort of like a burglar alarm :) I have not been able to see if it picks up the east coast satellites like it is suppose to and I won't be able to until next year when we venture out to Maine. Also, I have not bought a HDD to hook up to the receiver and use as a DVR. This antenna is suppose to be able to have 2 receivers hookup to it but I think the ability to watch 2 different shows on the 2 different receivers. I will report back when I know more or if I experience any problems.

Great antenna
Gets signal where others don't. Big but put a strap on handle to carry on to RV rooftop. When fully locked you get better picture. Finds satellites faster than older models, much more stable in wind with or without tripod. Better in inclement weather due to large dish size.

Best of all worlds.
Purchased this dish for the RV. I went back and forth between a roof mount and this portable. After being convinced that this was the way to go, I gave it a try. Pros: Price Can hit both Dish arcs (East and West). Can support two receivers when on the East Arc. Very light. Only one cable (power over coax). Cons: Can take a while to align itself. Not really a con since all portables do... Usage: The first trip out with this, I ended up under a tree. The neighbor couldn't get signal. I just used an extra cable 50' and was up and running in 5 minutes! The manual says 50' max, but I was at 100' (since I have 50' from the front of the camper to the ladder where I usually mount it). When not under a tree I mount on a flagpole buddy on the ladder (http://www.modyourrv.com/Satellite-Antenna-Mounts.html). Keeps it high and out of the way. Easy to put up even on top of an eight foot aluminum pole. Last note, it is so easy and looks pretty cool that I had others stop by and ask about it. Even my father-in-law who has a roof mount wants to get one "just in case" they get parked under a tree.

Easy Operation and Strong Signal
Works great. Strong signal. This one is supposed to work in both the West and the East. Only tested in West so far. Be warned, if you are expecting to utilize the dish through existing RV wiring. The wiring has to be direct to the satellite, no boosters or amplifiers. Check with your RV dealer to verify before attempting use. I have a brand new RV and had to have it rewired to accept the wiring via the outside coaxial jack.

Much better than the TailGator ....
We had a TailGator for a couple of years, and it worked as advertised, but had some limitations. While it was small, light, and easy to handle, the internal antenna is pretty small, and sometimes it could only produce a weak signal. It was also limited to the western satellites which was a problem at some campsites, especially up north. It will also support a second receiver, but you have to be watching a program available on the same satellite as the main receiver is tuned to. The Pathway X2 is bigger and heavier, but still easy enough to handle and stow away. We got it with the optional tripod, which makes for a nice solid set up. It is a much nicer built piece of equipment than the Tailgator. Comparing the reception at the same campsite, the X2 generated signals on all three satellites at least twice as strong as the Tailgator. A strong signal means noticeably faster set up and download of program guide, etc. It has also been convenient to utilize the eastern satellites when the western ones are partially obscured by trees or other site specific obstacles.... Highly recommended!

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!
Let me start this review by stating I own a residential high end AV Company with projects for the rich and famous. So I bought this for my boat with hopes of using the ‘2nd Receiver’ fully understanding that the 2nd Receiver can only watch a program that’s on the same satellite as the main receiver is tuned to. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! The second Receiver NEVER WORKS! You will spend more time rebooting & resetting then actually watching TV. I honestly can say I got it to work 1 time the entire summer. Save your money and get a dish that is designed for only 1 Receiver. This was a total waste of money and time. For full disclosure I am using Dish Network Wally Receivers so I can not speak for Directv receivers.
