Works, but not for long on a tractor.
I ordered 4 of these, (2 for my tractor and 2 for a friend). Of the 2 I kept, I mounted one on my tractor. It started out working for a day, then kept getting stuck on zero and would not budge, even at a 20 degree tilt. I took it off and it seemed to work fine in my hand. I put it back on the tractor and after an hour it was stuck again. I put the second one on my tractor and it has worked perfectly for a month. I took the first one apart to see what the problem was with it, but could not find anything wrong (the ball is in a sealed glass tube that is liquid filled. I can only guess that there is some very small invisible glass particle inside that gets shaken down to the zero mark and keeps the ball from rolling past it. The design is good, but I seem to have one with a defect. I did not feel right about sending it back after I had taken it apart, besides the shipping is most of the price. 3 stars because 3/4 worked well.EDIT: Well after a few weeks all the other 3 have failed in the same way as the first. Some little invisible particles inside the glass tube make the metal ball get stuck. They were all on different machines. I am guessing that the liquid inside is two thin and allows the ball to hammer the glass from the machinery vibration and generate little glass chips. I guess these should work for something that does not vibrate, perhaps a boat or RV, but not equipment. 1 star because all have failed in short order.

Glass tube shattered
Mounted this device with the supplied adhesive on my bulkhead. Came back after a day and the glass bearing track had shattered outward. Gauge was faces south while moored. My only assumption is the the liquid expanded and shattered the glass.
