Review: The Best Matcha I’ve Tried - I can’t drink coffee for health reasons, so I’ve become a big fan of matcha lattes. I’ve tried matcha lattes in many cafés, and unfortunately even in top coffee shops they often taste quite bitter or have a strong, fishy aftertaste. I decided to do some research and came across information that the best matcha comes from Uji in Kyoto, so I chose to give it a try. I’m really glad I did – this is the best matcha I have had so far. It’s incredibly smooth and delicate, with no bitterness or unpleasant fishy notes at all. It is a bit on the expensive side, but it is absolutely worth the price for the quality.
Review: Excellent Matcha - This is a beautiful excellent quality matcha! I have unfortunately used it all up so I’ll have to buy more when I can. It is expensive stuff, but that is only because of the popularity of the drink itself and to ensure quality. I don’t personally find that matcha has differing tastes depending on the company (if it’s good matcha anyway) so this just has the usual beautiful earthy flavour. I like to use it to make iced matcha lattes and it of course blends very well when whisking properly, but I wouldn't know about how it performs for the matcha purists out there. I will definitely be buying again!

## Features

- What Makes Our Kyoto Uji Matcha (京都宇治抹茶) Special? Sourced from our farm in Uji, Kyoto, our Ceremonial Grade (Tokujō 特上) matcha is made from young first-harvest green tea leaves, carefully selected exclusively from the prestigious Okumidori cultivar. Our green tea leaves (tencha) are delicately and traditionally stone-milled, an essential process to achieve a vibrant color, balanced flavor, and natural aroma.
- Ceremonial Grade (Tokujō 特上): We classify our matcha into three grades, each crafted for a unique experience. Discover our Superior Ceremonial Grade Matcha, made exclusively from the prestigious Okumidori cultivar. Created by the renowned master Suzuki San, this premium matcha stands out for its smooth texture and naturally sweeter taste compared to other varieties. Shade-grown cultivation preserves L-theanine and increases chlorophyll, resulting in a sweeter and more umami-rich flavor.
- We Want to Help You Enjoy Matcha: Whether in traditional tea, a latte, or any other way, we believe there is no right or wrong way to enjoy it. Our 50g package yields a total of 25 servings. With 2g of matcha, you can prepare a cup of usucha (light tea) or a creamy matcha latte. Unlike coffee, which causes energy spikes, our matcha is rich in L-theanine, an amino acid that balances caffeine, providing sustained energy, focus, and relaxation.
- Uncompromising Quality: Our matcha is crafted under the highest quality standards in Japan, ensuring its purity, freshness, and sustainability. Additionally, all our products are shipped weekly in small batches directly from our farms to desertcart’s warehouse. Thanks to this continuous process, our products reach you just days after production, preserving their freshness and properties in our airtight-seal packaging.
- OCHA & CO: We are a traditional Japanese company committed to sharing the authentic Japanese matcha experience with you. Our mission is to offer the highest quality matcha, grown and processed directly at the source. By choosing our products, you not only enjoy premium tea but also support rural Japanese communities and their way of life, where our farms are located.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good for daily matcha latte
*by G***G on 29 June 2026*

A solid daily matcha that’s easy on the wallet. The fresh green aroma with subtle nutty notes makes it enjoyable for everyday lattes. Although it doesn’t have the deep umami complexity of premium ceremonial matcha, it still delivers a well-balanced flavor and is a great choice for daily use.
