Not as hot
This unit does not get as hot as the one it replaces which is 4 inches wide. It is marked #21305 and has developed a short.

It is the best heating pad.

No heat
I bought this because I have an older one that’s larger. I expected this one to heat the same way with the same strength in a pad suitable for a shoulder. It didn’t it barely got warm and so it’s basically a waste of money.

Don't Waste Your Money
After trying the thermophore for the neck several times, I did not obtain any "moist" heat. I tried all suggestions that came with the unit to get it to produce moisture: leave the covering in a room that may have more moisture (after showering, I left the covering in the bathroom and closed the door for several hours) and wash the covering, which I did, which still did not result in the unit producing moisture. Also, the thermophore did not fit closely against my neck (I am of average size) even when securing the strap as tightly as possible.

BUYER BEWARE - DEFECTIVE PRODUCT & BATTLE CREEK DID NOT STAND BEHIND FAILED PRODUCT - WARRANTY IS NO GOOD!!
BUYER BEWARE - OURS FAILED UNDER WARRANTY-WARRANTY REPLACEMENT IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE. In my opinion, Battle Creek is doing everything possible to deny all warranty claims. It is surprising and disappointing that Battle Creek, a company that used to make such a high quality heating pad, makes the consumer go to Battle Stations to get a simple warranty issue resolved. Sunbeam takest the opposite approach. I own 4 of their heating pads, when one failed under the two year warranty, I got nothing but hassle from Customer Service trying to get it replaced. I will never buy their products again.
