Well, I have one of the original Cross Ions (as my silver metal one) seems to have disappeared when I moved a couple of years ago. Over the years, however, I have stocked up on purple ink refills hoping to find another one. I remember paying no more than $10-15 total for the silver, not the $70 that Schaeffer is charging. Anyway, my two purple replacements, showed up a couple of weeks ago -- yeah!

Better than the Cross version. The plastic "bellows" between upper and lower pen buffer the sharp edges of the pen, making it more comfortable.

I have looking for this pen for quite a while and this is perfect for fitting in my pocket. It comes in very handy.

This pen stabbed me a few times before I sent it back. It's too easy to pick it up such that the pen comes out and stabs you instead of being ready for writing. It's not reasonable to have to stop and look every time the pen is taken out.

Good pen but wish it was purple ink inside than black.
