ICF-P27 Portable Radio with Speaker and AM/FM Tuner

The Sony ICF-P27 is a high-quality radio with nice design, case materials, and dials. It is surprisingly small and portable.The reception and sound quality are good, considering the size of the speaker and antennas. The claimed battery life is high but I haven't tested that.Sony's bigger radios like the ICF-506 would be better choices for desktop situations (plug into the mains, bigger antennas, bigger speaker, etc.).

Purchased for a friend who needed a reliable radio for AM and FM with long battery life. This one checks all the boxes. Picks up many stations loud and clear, locks into every radio station, no static. Good size easy to use, he takes it hiking and street walking. Very satisfied with his gift.

I've bought a lot of small pocket radios overthe past 45 years. I find this one to be theabsolute best. The fact that Sony is no longermaking this radio is terrible. I was able to buythis radio a few years ago for between 22 and 25dollars. Now it is going for a ridiculously high priceif anybody is even selling it. That is just not right.

nice portable radio, a bit bulkier than I was expecting, but perfectly serviceable for my needs at decent price. Also, works off of AA batteries.

I’ve honestly had so many good uses for this radio! its come in handy when we go to the beach and would like to listen to some music or just on the road if the car is occupied with my phones bluetooth on call. Especially at drive ins which was my main need when buying it, the reception is honestly quite good. For the value the quality, its pretty durable and has lasted me a couple of months. It has AM and PM, the only thing would be that the sensitivity of the tuner may be a bit high for some, just be slow and patient. Overall a steal.

I never expected to say this about a Sony radio, but it turned out to be a piece of junk. For a few weeks it worked well. My husband loves listening to sports radio while he walks. After a few weeks though, the sound began intermittently cutting out, regardless of AM or FM or the station. And now the radio is essentially unusable. When you first turn it on, it works, but after about a minute the sound cuts out and will not return. It was only $20, but ended up being a waste of money. I expected better from Sony.

I have used these portable radios for many years. One for the bathroom when getting ready in the morning, and one for overnight listening to talk shows. The Sony works extremely well. They take two AA batteries and for the overnight radio, they last at least a month which I think is very good. Every night is about 8 - 10 hours of use. Love the radio. Tunes in stations easily.

My old Sony S10 volume button jumps from a little too low to a tad too high, so I sought a replacement Nov 2024. The new Sony P27 & old Sony sound the same. No quality improvement. New P27 Sony is plastic; old one is metal.The Crane Pocket Radio speaker quality is not as rich as either Sony. Crane is fairly 'tinny', but I will keep it solely because of the digital push buttons.Sony has better quality sound by far. Crane has push buttons.

desde que lo vi en la miniatura supe que era el indicado. es un diseño muy elegante con terminados minimalistas (nada de biseles, tornillos, bordes, etc. -es un pequeño ladrillo-) y aunque es un producto económico (sé que hay opciones más baratas en otras marcas, pero en sony es la opción más económica) hecho en china la experiencia es muy gratificante ya que siempre corresponde a la conocida calidad de cualquier sony. ahora que lo tengo en la mano y con el parlante encendido puedo decir que ha superado cualquier expectativa. me gusta mucho, incluso a veces sólo lo enciendo por el puro placer de contemplar su magia de portabilidad radiofónica y dejarme llevar.

Just want a small, no bells and whistles radio for emergencies or that is reasonably packable? This is a good one. Small, tidy, a few buttons and thats it. Nothing more than a simple AM/FM radio, with more than decent sound for the size and great reception/tuning. You can overspend all day long on a little radio, but this one is just fine and serves its purpose well. Battery life in this is quite good as well.

O rádio apresenta o velho dilema: se é muito sensível na recepção, acaba por receber interferências. Se é muito seletivo, não recebe sinais mais fracos. No caso desse rádio, ele captura muitas estações e também sinais de interferência. Se você mora em um grande centro urbano, com muitas estações de rádio, pode simplesmente ficar impossível sintonizar uma delas sem ruídos, estáticas e outras emissoras ao mesmo tempo. Infelizmente não é um rádio que faz juz à marca. Para piorar, fui taxado na aduana.
