Old MacDonald Had a Woodshop

I honestly wasn't expecting anything great. I just started buying a few paperback books for our toddler and just added this one on a whim. I was pleasantly surprised. My newly 2-year old LOVES it. She has only a small tool set and makes sure that she has them in hand to play along with the story as much as she can. The story goes through multiple types of each tool (i.e. power drill and hand drill; circular saw, saber saw [jigsaw], and crosscut saw; etc). The beginning and end of the book display an image of the pegboard of tools, labeled. Our daughter likes for us to go through naming everything.

What a fun book. One of our new favorites.

A different take on Old MacDonald, but after reading this I have all kinds of ideas. For a music class you can use all kinds of hand instructments to make the sounds. I think this will end up be a very fun book to work with.

This is a great book that teaches various tools and the noises they make. My little one gave this to her Grandpa who likes to do working projects so they can read it together. They both really enjoy it. I wish it came in a board book or Hardcover but still a great book.

This book is GREAT! My son is totally addicted to the story, and the inside back and front cover with all the great detailed tool illustrations. He particularly loves the injured goat in the middle. Great book for a little tool-a-holic, who also likes animals (and most kids like animals). The surprise ending also amuses my son to no end.

We go to our local children's museum and this story is there available for guests to read. My 3 year old loves tools and loves reading this book. Such a cute story. I love that the animals are building something throughout the story and you find out what at the end. Love this so much I had to buy it for my 3 year old to have at home.

I bought this book as a gift to my husband and kids. My husband does woodwork, so this book is a clever way of introducing the kids to the different tools that he uses. Regardless if you have a wood shop or not, this is a fun version of Old MacDonald worth reading over and over again,
