I often have a problem with a thong in between my big toe due to chafing, (these are "thonged", though it's hard to see in the picture) but these were quite comfortable and very stylish at the same time. They too can be dressed up or down. I wore them to a family member's graduation with a maxi skirt, etc (also within my reviews) and walked/stood for quite a long time outside after the ceremony in comfort.
