2 wks, 2 units, FIVE flies??!!!!
Wow. Pros? The units are compact, EZ to use, & unintrusive. Cons? They don't WORK. It took literally 10 days to catch 1 fly, the 1st, in the bathroom. That unit is in the GFI outlet above the sink; total darkness, unless the room is occupied. 2nd unit in the entry, where bdrm, lvg rm, kitchen, & bath rm doorways meet. Darkness after bedtime. My tabletop Katchy unit takes up more space, but by Goddess, it captures flies! These are "nice idea, good design, but decorative, not functional." Returning. // I will save up, & buy a 2nd Katchy.

Did Not Work - Get the Window Strips
Terminix is on the way to help, but in the meantime I wanted something to alleviate the invasion of flies we are having in our home. My husband said just get the good old-fashioned window fly strips, but I said this more expensive plug-in solution has better reviews. I ordered both this pack of Safer Home Indoor Plug-In Fly Traps and a pack of wonderful leather fly swatters off this site. Turns out the swatters came with four free window strips. In the 19 hours we've had them, this two-pack of plug-ins has caught one fly each. The two old fashioned window strips have each caught about 15 flies!

Safer Home Fly Trap VS. Apple Cider Vinegar Mix
I always seem to end up with little fruit flies in my kitchen that drive me nuts. My usual method has always been an apple cider vinegar mix (recipe below!) but I wanted to try Safer Home fly trap to see if it was a better way. The short answer is NO :( Pros: Safer Home is very quick to assemble and plug-in, the light has a nice glow and it doesn’t have an odor. Cons: it didn’t even come close to catching as many flies. In fact it only caught one and I’ll be honest the very worst part was that the one fly caught in Safer Home WAS STILL ALIVE. All that went into the Apple cider vinegar mix died quickly but the one little guy on the Safer Home trap was stuck, trying to move and dying slowly. It was horrible, I had to kill it to stop it’s suffering. This product is also more expensive than the alternative I use. Apple cider vinegar mix: pour some apple cider vinegar in a small dish, squeeze in a little honey and 2 drops of liquid dish soap. Now place it where the fruit flies are present. It’s a little stinky but all natural and very effective.

The most snake oil product I bought from Amazon
I was charmed by the idea of a chemical-free, high-tech solution to my insect woes when I stumbled upon the Safer Brand SH502. Imagine my dismay when this gadget, which I had pinned my hopes on, turned out to be as effective as a glass of water in a forest fire. The UV LED feature, which was supposed to be the pièce de résistance, did nothing but give my room an eerie glow, failing miserably to lure any bugs. I ended up reverting to a trusty, unassuming fly strip, which outperformed this modern marvel at a fraction of the cost. Let's not forget the environmental angle, where the SH502 was supposed to shine. One might think that forsaking chemical warfare for this 'eco-friendly' solution would at least offer some moral high ground. Alas, the only ground gained here was in creating landfill, as that's where this device is destined to end its disappointing journey. If you seek an effective, reliable, and genuinely innovative solution to your pest problems, look elsewhere. This product is little more than a testament to the hubris of marketing, a stark reminder that all that glitters is not gold, and certainly not all that claims to be green is eco-friendly. Save your money, your time, and perhaps even a smidge of your sanity by steering clear of this monumental flop.

PLEASE! AVOID IT, this is why
I bought two plugs for my garage and one for the kitchen/breakfast area. My husband hates (with all his heart) flies; occasionally, we see one or two. The same day l installed them, l saw a great result, especially in the garage, and l understood that when the room (garage) is dark, the light attracts the flies or insects so fast! On the other hand, the one inside my house waited a day to see the results, GREAT RESULTS. Forty-eight hours later, we started to see a SCARY flies INFESTATION INSIDE the house. To the point that we couldn’t even eat or cook peacefully. My husband killed close to 50 flies, and this continued happening. We were so frustrated because we didn’t leave the doors open or the garage -like many people do- for long periods. We couldn’t control the infestation, which became a deep concern for hygiene, emotional stability, and stress. Terrible! After a week, l called our fumigation company, and the tech asked us to immediately remove the traps (plugs) and throw them away. (I changed the glue refill every day). SHOCKED! This changed our lives. THE SAFER HOME trap caused the infestation!!! The following day (yesterday ), after removing the traps, we no longer had flies (again, from time to time, we got one or two). I WOULD NEVER BUY or try THIS OR ANY FLIES TRAP FOR INDOOR use.

Price increase
Amazon just emailed me about a price increase for my subscription to these. The price has doubled in four months, from $3.32 to $6.62!! How can three pieces of cardboard with a sticky back cost this much?? Rating this 2 stars because they actually work at trapping flies but the new pricing is so disappointing.

Doesn't actually attract house flies
Despite being advertised as a trap for house flies, this product caught none of them. We live in a rural farmhouse and have seasons of housefly hatches that produce hundreds of flies. We got two of these products and put them in different parts of the house. Despite at least 80 to 100 flies being present, not a single one was trapped after 24 hours. We were skeptical since it used a light to attract flies, but so many people said that it worked for them, and the advertising specifically said that it worked for flies. For what it is worth, there were a few mosquitoes and tons of gnats that stuck to the product, so if that is your issue, it should resolve your problems. I would suggest updating the product description to exclude flies from the target population as this product really does nothing to address it.

Received incomplete and used product!
This is my second purchase of the Safer Fly Trap. I bought two more because the first worked great to capture gnats around my plants; however, this time I received used items. I ordered two lights with two glue cards…received two used lights and one used glue card. Gross! I want to add a comment…I have lived in two different regions in the past year. In the past, I have suffered from “fruit flies”, the gnats that swarm the bananas, drains, and my wine glass. I have found that ACV and a little dish soap works well to catch them. Now living down on the coast, the ACV didn’t work at all. These lights have been very effective to catch the gnats from my houseplants that are drawn to moisture. I even find them under my dishcloth on the sink. These lights are very effective for the “coastal gnats”! I only left a bad review for receiving a used product from the seller.

Worked Well
This device caught all kinds of pesky flying bugs on my trip North. The sticky pad was black by the time I returned home. No flying bugs at night while I was reading my ereader or around the fruit bowl or mysteriously biting me ( no see ums).

Bueno para mosquitos de fruta
Me gusta porque atrapa los mosquitos de la fruta, pero nunca a caído un zancudo y menos una mosca, pero aún así me a servido.
