I got a partial refund and ordered again and again got only one can instead of a case of 12. More refund so I wasn’t out of the money but I didn’t get the product. This time a few months later, I got my full case. These are my favorite escargots. Despite from Indonesia, they are to me the best, and better than the Helix snails from France. Why, these Roland snails are cleaned better. Fore than are canned. You can rinse, refresh them by patching in herbs, stick and white wine and you are ready to go. Many other brands, including the French snails have not had the tail part of the snails rubbed off so the directive track at the end of the s ails are still full of the oatmeal the snails have been fed. Snails are always fed with a neutral grain like oatmeal for a short time to cleanse their digestive track. It is a safety thing to cleanse their internals before getting them ready to cam and sell. While harmless, I don’t like to bite into something like a few grains of well cooked rice at the end of the snail when I eat them with a delicious garlic and parsley butter. To get rid of the back end of this stuff, you have to clean each one. These Indonesian snails don’t have this problem. Pricing is unbeatable. We always like buying by the case of 12 as we love them. So, I prepare the entire can with butter, 4 cloves of Garlic, 1/4 cup red wine. Heat 'til ready. Let what you can't eat cool then freeze in individual serving sizes. The Wine preserves the snails for about 4 months. Make sure you use "Freezer Baggies". **Q: are they French?** A: No they are from Indonesia. However they are in the "French" style. Same type.
