Gas line connects to the 5/16” (larger size) barb. **Q: Can you replace the rubber stopper with a larger one for a wider mouth bottle?** A: On mine, it is not a rubber stopper. It is a silicone seal that is bonded to the assembly. I suppose that a larger rubber stopper could be slid on beneath it to accommodate larger bottle mouth but that would subtract from the depth that the bottle filler will extend into the bottle. Is it possible to use this to carbonate beverages that are not kegged?** A: This is not the thing for that. This is used to fill individual bottles of things that are already carbonated. The counter pressure part allows you to pressurize the bottle to about the same psi as you keg or brite tank. This way the pressure is almost equal. This allows to to transfer from keg/tank to bottle without loosing any carbonation and in a controlled manner. You might look into bottle conditioning if you want some carbonation to your mead.
