It is fungal pepsin from Aspergillus niger. It's very hard to find pepsin from a non-pork source. I was very happy to find this! **Q: What are the additional ingredients? I have an aversion to silica, and any form of silica.** A: The last ingredient on the label is silica. **Q: Free bottle with purchase** A: It says there is a 2 pack in the description. I only bought the single pack from what I remember. Usually if it says to pack there are two bottles in the package they send you.
