Postal Pro Craftsman Mailbox and Post Kit, (Black)

I was worried the plastic would look cheap, but it actually looks nice. It looks more like matte color instead of plastic. The engineering idea to have it fit over a wood post was genius. Regardless of the mailbox quality, the post is what makes it sturdy. I truly do NOT like the look of the exposed wood post with the metal box. Have always thought i wanted an expensive metal one, but this is a better value. So much money on the metal one has diminishing return. How much do you really want to spend the a mailbox - what does it do?

This was a great purchase and really upgraded the look of our house. Only thing to advise. Use a small drill to drill holes in back before trying to insert Screws into wood post literally a 10 min job. Will lastA long time

I ordered this to replace one that had been victim to a hit and run. I'm a rural delivery in Maine, and I have my doubts that this will survive a winter here. The snow plow comes down our ridge at a good clip and if we get ice or wet snow, I can visualize this neat looking mailbox and post as a big plastic explosion on impact. (I'll let you know). Newly widowed, I was in hopes this would indeed be as easy to install as it's written promises implied.Of course...it required a cordless drill (which I don't have and as a woman wouldn't know how to use) and the existing wooden post required a cordless saw, too. So I had to hire someone (waiting several weeks) to install it for me. As it turns out, that took some doing as screw holes were still closed plastic, so they had to be pre-drilled...and so you can guess the rest of the job progressed likewise. But, it's together, and the mail delivery is coming to it despite it not being precisely within the USPS requirements. I'm just hoping that it will last through the winter; and that I won't have to run to the village for my mail every day. And should it succumb to the plow, which is what I'm anticipating, I'll be able to find a real rural box and have it installed from the ground up. The thing is, I really hate that it only seems to attract junk mail so far..and a few bills.

I loved the ease of installation and the sturdiness as well as the classic look.

I am very happy with this mailbox..it assembled perfectly over a 4 by 4,looks great and I actually get compliments on it,it is that nice looking!;)
