All included alarms in this bundle are mains powered, each with a 9V alkaline back-up battery so they can continue to provide fire protection in the event of a mains power failure. Smoke alarms are suitable for hallways, landings, bedrooms and living areas whereas heat alarms are suitable for installing in the kitchen where normal cooking fumes can cause false activations in a smoke alarm. Up to 24 compatible Kidde KF devices can be hardwire interlinked together to ensure that if one alarm is activated, the other alarms in the system will activate in unison to provide maximum fire protection for your household.Please note: The Kidde Firex KF20 (previously KF2 / 4973 / PADC240) is a replacement for the Kidde 223/9HI and the Kidde Firex KF30 (previously KF3 / 4899 / H230CT) is a replacement for the Kidde 323/9HI. These alarms can be electrically interlinked, however, the new models cannot be used on the old base plates for the 223/9HI and 323/9HI as they use different style connector blocks.
