Linear actuators are actuators which create motion in a straight line. Unlike a motor, which creates circular motion, a linear actuator can be used with any application that requires moving something in a straight line (e.g. up and down or side to side). Windy Nation LIN-ACT1 Series Linear Actuators are powerful and reliable linear actuators for small to medium loads. We designed our linear actuators with pre-lubricated metal gears, pre-installed limit switches, and with an IP65 (suitable for outdoor use) water resistance rating. Included with your purchase are two linear actuators, an up/down switch, which is used to the control the motion of the linear actuators. There are two options for the switch: Momentary and Maintained. A momentary switch will only supply power to the actuator when the button is actively engaged by your finger. When you release the button, power is cut to the actuator and it stops. The maintained switch will continued to supply power to the actuator until it is manually turned off by the end user (A light bulb switch is a maintained switch, which means it will stay on until you turn it off).

slow but strong
I used these actuators to automate my pull out bed in my van to convert from a couch to a bed. I absolutely love the addition. Super easy to wire, easy to install, and made sense. The only thing I would have changed were the blue and green wires. They didn't really make sense to me, but I just lined up the blue to the black and the red to the green and the motor worked out how I intended (up [towards the blue/green wires] pushes the actuators out, and conversely down [towards the red and black wires] pushes the actuators in.) You can modify this by switching the wires around, but that didn't really make sense to me. I tested the actuators and they move pretty slow (about 30-45 seconds to move 16") but all in all, I'm pretty happy that they are doing the job that I installed them for. Would definitely buy again (and probably will for my next van conversion.)

Great so far
bought these to build a table tilt for the wifes Dewalt scroll saw. She likes it tilted because it is easier on her neck and shoulders and she can see the work better that way.Comes with everything but the power supply.I used 2 of these for the table because it was easier to distribute the weight this way. It also kept the table nice and sturdy and no extra vibration. There was a slight difference in the speeds at which they lift and lower (not a weight distribution problem) when tested with no load. After installing there was no change due to the load and the speeds were close enough not to cause any problems. So far, so good.

So far so good these things are great
These are pretty powerful actuators yes they are a little noisy well they're running but I think that it's expected it's not like they're used all the time, I used this sets for a custom queen size bed frame so it could lift automatically
