these are a bit tight and needed sanding to make them fit and be able to paint them too. Used in art therapy so would have preferred less prep needed but good value considering

EDIT: changed review and took a star off as review had been written after I opened the first one, which was fine! However upon opening the second, the quality is bad, the wood on inner parts is splitting and has knots, also a patch they have tried to fix with plaster/filler. The only reason I took a star off if the horrible squeaking noise when I first opened and that there was sawdust inside a couple. Bare wood so can prime and paint yourself, im making some personalised ones for christmas presents. Arrived on time, best price I could find and good price for the quality!

I reluctantly ordered these as they were the cheapest on Amazon. Thought I’d give them a go. Disappointingly, I’ve had to return them and source others instead. They were so tight even my husband couldn’t open two of them so stood no chance of a child opening them at all especially after they’d been painted and varnished. Where there were knots in the wood, a filler had been used well over the top and sanded down nicely so the overall appearance was good. It’s just a shame they were unusable.

The dolls are indeed hard to open. Once you get one prized off you'll be hit with the smell of mold and a flutter of sawdust. Very rough and poorly finished on the inside and the outside of some you'll find daubs of wood filler in knots. The smallest doll of each set is a poorly painted one, which is odd considering what is advertised is untreated wood. All three of the sets I bought had these various issues. Needless to say they're being sent back.

These were supposed to be a good project, but once out of the wrapping they are now not joining together, so they either get stuck and sit at a angle, or just don't meet at all. Then you have a battle to open them.

Opened one of the three sets of stacking dolls from the packaging, struggled to separate the wood, upon opening there was a strange smell, when I got to the smallest figure it was rotten with mould, after inpecting other items without opening the outer plastic it looks like there is some sort of wood mould on them too. Returning for a refund.

out of all the sets I have bought I have had to sand the joints after spending time prizing apart, not an easy task. A lot of the dolls are very crudely finished with damage to the surface. Expect to be disappointed by the quality. Expect to put a lot of effort into making the dolls work properly, take my advice and invest in a small rotary tool.

I couldn't open two of the three without using a knife to prise them apart. That means I have to sand down the joins myself and when I put paint on them it will make it worse! There's only three dolls in each set! The picture on Amazon shows five! Total rubbish. Thankfully Amazon allows me to return items that are like this!
