You need this in you lives people!
Great and heavy duty yet very versatile. We use it to hold our son’s nebulizer for his breathing treatments, which allows us to do other things . The clamp is sturdy and strong. Would recommend offering replacement clamps as over time I’m sure the pads will wear down.

Plamp
Works purity good. Table Clamp end is strong, opens to approx 1”, and the subject clamp uses a screw to adjust the clamp pressure. Got the extension and with some hot water to soften the end was able to attach it to the main clamp with some force. It does not move smoothly when you have to adjust the position of the clamp for the subject, it tends to be jerky because of the way the mechanism it put together like a bunch of ball and socket joints that are adjustable. With the extension it can be “bouncy” and not steady due to the length. It can’t hold a lot of weight, a cupple of flowers, but without the extension it would hold a lot more without sagging and “bobbing” and it would be steadier. All together a good product.

Extra hand
This handy gadget acn help hold many things. I use it with photography reflectors when reaching a longer distance than I can reach. Constructed well and very easily bendable. Convenient to roll up into a camera bag or a purse. The clip seems strong enough to hold to a tripod if necessary.

does it all and does it right
The Plamp is one of those photo accessories you might initially think was just an overpriced gimmick. But once you've used it, and seen how much easier (and less frustrating) a macro or flower shot can be, you're converted. It's designed for success, and well made.

Puts reflectors where I want them.
For articulated plastic arms I think they are a bit pricey. That is too bad because if they were sold with a price discount for the more you buy I would buy a few more. For macrophotography I need to have lights hitting surfaces with different intensities and different angles. I need filtered lights, bright lights, diffuse lighting, crinkled aluminum foil reflectors, etc. These arms are sturdy, flexible, and long enough to do the job. So far they stay where I put them. I say "so far" because I don't know how much twisting and bending they will take before they start to flop. Maybe they won't, they are just holding very small weights. Right now they are my go-to holders for reflectors. I do like the clamps at the reflector holding end. They screw tight, and can be nice and tight so a filter or reflector doesn't shift with the foam rubber jaws. The other end is just a spring clamp. I have already had a problem with them shifting a little when I move the arm. But they are versatile and easy to move from one area to another. The other possibility is that I somehow incorporate a "C" clamp to replace the spring clamp. That would be able to really tighten down on the edge of a table of vertical post. I would recommend them, especially if time is money for you.

Why did I wait to buy this?
I've been wanting one for years. It will be put to use when I'm stuck in my studio this winter. Well-made, the only thing quite like it on the photo market. Good instructions, but don't know how long the rubber band will last, or if others are to be had from the Plamp people. Minor...regular bands will probably do fine. A good accessory for macro photography.

The Plamp Is Like Having An Assistant
I do floral and nature photography. I work alone, so this is like having an assistant. I work outside and in a studio. I often clamp it on fences, tables, chairs, light stands and my tripod to hold flowers steady or my reflectors/diffusers. That side of the Plamp is strong enough to hold it solidly in place. I purchased the stake with it, but haven't used that yet. The tip of the clamp that holds the subject is a soft rubber so I can easily screw it down just enough to hold the most delicate of subjects like flower stems so they don't get pinched. There is a notch in the very corner that holds reflectors/diffusers and heartier subjects like branches and stems. I just screw down that end as tight as I need it to be. My only problem was the clamp side that holds my subjects has fallen off on occasion when I've tried to rotate it into position. After a few times of it falling off, I've learned to manipulate it so that doesn't happen. I think this is meant to be removed if you want to add extensions and then you reattach it. The stem/arm part of the Plamp is very stiff, sturdy, easily manipulated and stays in place. Overall, I don't know how I lived without this. I know people who've made their own using foam coated wire, but this Plamp's design is great and serves its purpose very well. I'm sure I'll purchase another one in the future.

Seems expensive, but by far the best such product I've tried
I had looked at this product previously and didn't buy it because of the price. I tried several other articulated arms with clamps, with terrible results - table clamps unstable or not large enough to be useful, top clamp too rough for delicate subjects, flexible arm wasn't, or wasn't stable; a whole litany of problems. I wasted more on them in total than if I'd just bought this up front. Another photographer who shoots a lot of flowers recommended this product, so I bought one. I immediately used it half a dozen times doing the award photography for an orchid show, as well as in the greenhouse and it was immensely helpful in both situations. It still seems expensive, but I just added another one to my cart so I can keep one in the travel camera bag and one in the greenhouse. Plus it will be useful to have two for some difficult subjects.
