Life Commemorative: Michael Jackson

I got this book as a gift to myself, as I had been borrowing the library copy far too many times.The price for this was attractive too, I got it on a sale at perhaps half price?Anyhow, it is worth the original price, for the pictures and quality of the pictures. They all show Michael as we remember him - cute, happy, sunny, relaxed, and having a ball of his time.The book is filled with his pictures, and is well-balanced with words. As a Michael Jackson fan, I would say to get this book, you get priceless pictures of Michael in his Neverland home. Playing the Pied Piper of Neverland with kids...showing the kids his commissioned poster of himself etc.Get this! It is a small price to pay for high-quality prints, and to be honest, any Michael Jackson fan worth his salt would already know his history, or enough of his history to NOT be paying more money for wordy biographies that vilify Michael.We get to see Michael as a human, in his child-like fun-loving happy times.

This book came in the mail yesterday. My son is a huge MJ fan, as I am myself, so when I saw this Life book, I had to have it. I have an extensive collection of the LIFE books. I love them.This book gives a lot of biographical information on Michael. I did think it would have more pictures but it shows some great ones, particularly those taken when Michael was a child. I would have liked to have seen more pictures of him as an adult. His ever changing appearance really adds to the sadness of his life and since it was such a major part of his life, I feel more pictures should have been included.That said, I highly recommend this book to all Michael Jackson fans. May he rest in peace.

This is a must have for any MJ fan. It is hard-cover, unlike many of the other tributes, which is worth the price, period. It has some very nice photos in it and it follows his life from beginning to end. I have two favorite photos: the first one is when he was young, obviously when he was the front "man" of the J5, with the global afro, those big gorgeous eyes and that beautiful skin and the other is one where he is still sporting the afro, (a teenager by this time, young but older than he was on the first photo) walking across a pond, striking a pose, giving us a hint of what was to come.If you are truly a MJ fan, you won't be disappointed with this one. LIFE did a great job, ENJOY!

Ive read that someone said they did'nt like it because it dealt with more of the youngMichael rather than the later years,I dissagree ,Ilike it because of that reason,I've search high & low for a book chronicling& highlighting the J5,THIS ISTHE CLOSEST THING TO IT...the pictures are great,brings back old memories & good times through the yearsI grew up watching Michael& his brothers, & just wanted some kind of memeoribilia with them all...again its personal preferance,Im a huge J5 fan....& w/o the J5 who kno's may not have been a Michael........Ijs..

I haven't read it in its entirety yet, but I may edit this review as I read it...Michael Jackson, RIP...what to say...my impression?I think he was just an average joe who happened to make it big...from my experience reading biographies of various people, the more famous you are the more people try to attack you...in any way possible...its very unfortunate...he was rigorously judged...he had hobbies and loved to do different things, but it seemed someone always wanted a piece of him...He even wrote a song "leave me alone" for crying out loud!He also tried to stay close to his family and stay grounded, a wonderful attribute. Trying to give his children a normal upbringing, I read that he didn't reveal to them that he was "the king of pop" until his oldest was 15 or so...they were blown away..or as the newer generation would say "mind blown"...an admirable upbringing...keeping fame and pressure that comes with it off of their young shoulders...not to feel less than adequate because their pa was a super star...As for this mag though, they give plenty of pictures pre-white skin, which later on an autopsy of the deseased king told that he had a disorder...lots of text for anyone interested...

Bought this for my nine year old son who loves MJ's music, dancing and style of dress. This book is really fun with lot's of nice photos of Michael from the early years on up. Growing up in the 80's myself, we both are enjoying it and how it reflects him in a positive way for the talented person he was. Great addition to a collection and very affordable price!

Purchased this as part of my grandson's Michael Jackson memorabilia B-day gift.He is enjoying the pictures of Michael's youth and family life as well as seeing their childhood house. Also, it is interesting to note that at first I ordered it from one of my book clubs, only to be told it was out of stock, after they had held the order for several days.So of course I immediatly went to Amazon.com where I should have gone in the first place. It arrived in time forthe birthday party and I am greatly pleased with the book and the prompt service.

I LOVE THE PICTURES BUT THIS IS SUPPOSE TO BE A BOOK ABOUT CELEBRATING HIS LIFE AND IT MOSTLY TALKS NEGATIVE ABOUT HIM SO I JUST LOOK AT IT FOR THE HIGH QUALITY AMAZING PICTURES LOTS I NEVER SEEN BEFORE LOOKING AT THIS BOOK SO I GIVE IT FIVE STARS FOR THE PICTURES

la commande est à la hauteur de son contenu !Evidemment je ne suis pas très objective car j'adore et je suis fan de Michael!Que du positif sans remarque acerbe : enfin !!l'artiste et rien que l'artiste -->du pur bonheurdes photos magnifiques évidemment avec ce petit je ne sais quoi d'original !

Un joli livre présentant de nombreuses photos dont certaines inédites. Les fans n'y apprendront rien sur la vie du chanteur mais la sobriété prime et c'est assez rare pour le souligner. Un vrai beau souvenir à garder précieusement dans sa bibliothèque.
