It's not watermelon-cutting sharpened, (we were bored, okay), but it is slightly sharpened. An edge could be put on it easily, so take that into consideration when choosing what age group to gift this too. My son wants this, but he's 16, so that's a no-go in my house.The sheath is all wood. The sword goes in and out easily, but there is a bit of resistance on the initial pull out, which is great, to an extent. I sat it's great, because this sits in tightly, so it isn't going to fall out. It would be very difficult for small hands to get this loose. However, there's no cross guard on this to protect your hand from slipping, and if you have to grasp the sheath with one hand and the hilt with the other to pull it apart to open it, there is a risk of slippage or simply holding it too close to yourself because there's no points of a cross guard to give you that subconscious note not to hold it so close to yourself.It slides in and you again have to apply resistance when seating it fully. Again, risk of slippage. So, that's my danger report on this sword.Otherwise, it's freaking awesome. An excellent prop, collectors, or cosplay piece. It's heavy, so you'll need a real belt to put this on to keep your pants up. The Uchiha Clan symbol is on the hilt and perfectly done. The all-black look is sleek and gorgeous. It's super nice, a bit of dust when you initially open it, so give it a careful wipe down and it'll shine up and look amazing.I'm very happy with this sword. It looks great on my wall rack with my other swords. A unique look and immediately recognizable as Sasuke's. The price is excellent for a real metal sword and the well-made wooden sheath. Super, super happy with this.

Looks awesome, great for display or cosplay, but the blade came in a little gross with wood shavings on the oil just cleaned it up otherwise it’s great

This is a fantastic cosplay sword! Its made with real metal, a stainless steel, so it has the heft and rigidity of an actual sword. Its quite beautiful, both the sword and scabbard. Its quite tough so i am not afraid of accidentally breaking it. For nearly all intents and purposes, it is a real sword. And for an incredibly affordable price! The only aspect of it that i would say is non-sword is the metal its made of. Real bladed weapons are rarely made of a stainless steel as that metal is not really as strong as an alloy steel. Its definitely shiny and sometimes harder. But the real reason its picked especially for costume equipment, is because you don't need to polish it and oil it to keep it from rusting just from moisture in the air.Now if you are just posing with this, it is perfect. If you are trying to be a street maniac, don't. And if you are going to use this as a practise sword, try not to hit anything while trying to hit things. Stainless in a blade doesn't hold its edge (probably why it doesn't come with one) and will lose to an alloy steel blade and be damaged by hard metals and many ceramics. I've even lost the edge and nicked a stainless blade on a hardwood beam...That all said, its a beautiful bit of fantasy or jewelry. Which is what you pay for.

It's a real sword. Cheap steal that's relatively sharp. Cool presentation. It looks nice in the scabbard. Not for children.

Appearance is easily damaged : soft wood used for handle and sheath.Saya where blade enters is weak : bends easily and does not spring back: a little rough handling and handle will break off blade.Looked nice out of the box, so for display might be nice..Don’t expect it to survive much handling without serious degradation.

The sword is very nice. But is hard to remove from it's sheath. It was purchased for a display and it ia perfect for that.

This product is a sword from the anime series Naruto, and it is designed like the one belonging to main character Sasuke Uchiha. I know this because an anime fan friend of mine took one look at this thing and knew it immediately as the "grass cutter" or something like that. The friend was very impressed by the subtle realism, and was almost worried that it was too good to be part of a cosplay costume.Overall this is a simple, squarish sword with a long sharp blade that nests in a bulky sheath. It is sharp enough to cut weeds, and it looks very mundane, almost like it is not supposed to be for show, but rather for utility. It is very impressive, even to someone like me that doesn't fully understand the background and meaning of the product. It is simply a nice useful sword! And if you have someone in your life that knows the show Naruto, this is a very nice replica of a weapon by a beloved character.
