I use a lot of braid with crap scissors and have to put a lot of tension on the line and do a bunch of snips to get through the line. I don't like the feeling of rings, but I watched a bunch of YouTube videos about this and one of the guy puts it on his rod. I tried that and it didn't really work on the smooth part of it but I wrapped it around the base grip on my baitcaster. I noticed it the first couple of casts but not I don't even notice it's there anymore. It really is super easy. I just slide a line through either side and it's an instant cut. There is not real force needed to have it slice it. It's virtually impossible to get any part of your body (other than hair) in here too so no worries of cutting yourself on it, ever. It's not GREAT with cutting knots in the line but it gets close enough that I can then pull the knot from the loop. But any changed to make that happen might compromise it's safety so I'm cool with working around it. Bought a 2nd one so I have one on the end of each rod. My brother-in-law later brought in food from a restaurant but the staff had tied a knot in the plastic bag so tightly that he couldn't untie it. I reached over and placed the handle through the Line Cutterz and it went through it like butter. There may be other uses for this tool no one has even thought of. All cutters do the job with monofilament line or fluorocarbon, but I fish a lot of braided lines and I was impressed with the clean cut and I just keep it attached to one of my poles.
