Works, but not like you think it might.
I bought this so I could listen to audio through my xbox controller. I found out that you use it to speak through, but not to hear audio through. Just an FYI. I'm sure it's a great product though, feels good quality.

Didn't work for my use.
Product didn't work for my need but I did a refund and before I could ship they refunded me my money. I still want to give it back but I dont think its possible.

Cheap and works fine
Used for shift work to wear regular headphones instead of uncomfortable earpieces. Work wells, plugs in fine and no issues.

Perfect fit adapter for using ear phones with cordless phone (Edited Rating)
I initially rated this with 5 stars, but that was based on just the fit. Now that I have tried it I can see why there were some not so good reviews. This adapter is necessary to use my cordless house phone hands free using my cell phone ear buds. The ear buds have a 3.5 mm male end that would not fit into my Panasonic cordless phone jack, which is 2.5 mm female. I plug the male end of my ear buds into the adapter, and then plug the male end of the adapter into my phone. Fits perfectly. However, when plugged all the way into the Panasonic phone jack, I can only hear out of one of the ear buds. If I pull the adapter end out of my phone a bit, I can hear out of both buds. The same results when I pull my ear bud end out of the female adapter part a bit. I tried it with 3 different sets of ear buds with the same results. It is not optimal, but when using my cordless phone to talk, I will put up with it. It works half way, but for the price, I guess that's good. Plus, I do not want to hassle with the return. I bought two of them, so guess I will be putting up with one ear hearing for quite a while.

Works great. Can't complain

Sound goes in and out.
There’s no sound if you plug it all the way in. It has to be halfway in and halfway out to work. If you move it, the sounds cuts out till you adjust it to that halfway point. It can become annoying after a while.

Cable was defective in about 2 weeks
Bought these for a 3.5mm audio cable I accidentally bought when I needed a 2.5mm. Instead of refunding the cable I decided to buy this 3.5 to 2.5 adapter. The adapter worked well enough for the few weeks. However it was very annoying how the jack would fall out on its own with the slightest amount of force or tension out of my Bose QC35. The critical problem with it however was that the short cable that separates the male and female ends started to become faulty by the 16th day and I lost audio on half the headphone as of a result of the failed cable. I got a returnless refund from Amazon and will instead be buying a female/male adapter that seems to cut the middleman out and have no cable in between. Editing this review to say the other adapter I bought is still working excellent compared to this piece of junk. Don't buy this cable adapter spend another $2 more and get a 3.5 to 2.5 adapter from Vention it doesn't have a flimsy cable in between ports rather it just has a solid aluminum cylinder casing.

Works well
Works very nicely so that I can connect a landline phone handset with a 2.5mm female jack to my computer (via a 3.5mm male double-headed adapter I already had) in order to record oral family history information with out-of-town relatives.
