PERFECT! All cooks need this jewel .
If you use a crock pot for all day cooking, roasts & chili, or boiling pnuts, ect ,quit wasting your time. This can do EVERYTHING, only better. My husband is amazed at my perfect baked potatoes in 12 mins. The flavor in anything I cook is great and the tenderness is remarkable. I remember my mom with her huge , heavy tank of a pressure cooker. She would love this! Easy peasy, set it up and leave it alone. Easy clean up, lightweight, even has a stay warm setting till you get back to it, has automated cook timers. Try it, modern technology with a keypad, you will appreciate all the things it can do.

Impressive Multi-cooker that saves time
I’ve been very impressed with the Instant Pot Duo Plus 9-in-1 Multicooker. It has become one of the most-used appliances in my kitchen because it combines so many functions into one machine. I’ve used it as a pressure cooker, slow cooker, rice cooker, and steamer, and it performs well in each mode. One of the biggest advantages is how much time it saves. Meals that would normally take hours can be ready in a fraction of the time, and the pressure cooking function is especially great for soups, stews, beans, and tougher cuts of meat. The stainless-steel inner pot is durable, easy to clean, and doesn’t retain odors. The control panel is user-friendly, and I appreciate the variety of preset cooking programs. The safety features also provide peace of mind when pressure cooking. Pros: • Versatile 9-in-1 functionality • Saves time on meal preparation • Easy-to-use controls and presets • Durable stainless-steel inner pot • Easy cleanup • Consistent cooking results Cons: • There is a learning curve for new users who have never used a pressure cooker. • It can take some time to build pressure before the actual cooking time begins. • The appliance is somewhat bulky and takes up a fair amount of counter or storage space. Overall, the Instant Pot Duo Plus is a fantastic kitchen appliance that simplifies cooking and reduces the number of gadgets needed in the kitchen. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to prepare meals faster while still achieving great results.

Excellent All-in-One Kitchen Appliance
Excellent multi-cooker! Very easy to use and saves a lot of time in the kitchen. I’ve used it for rice, soups, pressure cooking, and steaming, and everything comes out great. The stainless steel pot is high quality and easy to clean. Definitely worth the money.

Great idea, overall decent, but seems a bit delicate
Edit to update: The cooker has worked fine since the glitch mentioned below. It has worked well enough I purchased a 6 quart Instant Pot to make it easier to make recipes from the various cookbooks that are around for these devices. Most seem geared toward 6 quart sizes. My only additional advice is perhaps consider a 6 quart size if you want to make some of those recipes, otherwise the 4 quart is just fine for 1-2 people, maybe 4 people for a single serving each, with a bit left over. Purchased "Instant Pot DUO Plus 3 Qt 9-in-1 Multi- Use Programmable Pressure Cooker" through Amazon from Stelli Products, delivered May 27 2019, temporarily failed this morning July 13 2019, but then started again. Maybe. The idea of an electric pressure cooker combined with a slow and other cooker is great. I have used stove-top pressure cookers for years, (Fagor), as well as many and various slow and rice cookers. Having a programmed pressure cooker, like the rice and slow cookers, takes a lot of the worry about overcooking away from pressure cooking. I have been using this for about 6 weeks now, though only the slow and pressure cooking features, there are pluses and minuses. Pluses: Stainless steel inner pot without coatings takes concern about adverse effects from non-stick coatings away, and is easily cleanable with worrying too much about damage. Ability to have multiple pot liners ready is a plus, though I have not done that, I plan to. It seems to work very well when it works. Space-saving and versatility: It takes up no space on the stove, and can be used on any level surface anywhere the power cord can reach, so if your cooking a bunch of dishes you have an extra spot on the stove if you need one, while the cooker can be running somewhere else, even another room. Minuses: The condensation collector cup pops off way too easy. Cleanup of the outer rim is slightly annoying with all the nooks and crannys, this could be designed better. It also seems a bit delicate. This morning I filled it up with a chili recipe, set it to slow cook for 8 hours, it started but then the screen went blank. While mixing up the recipe in the pot some splashed over the rim and about a half teaspoon of the liquid got inside between the pot and the main cooker base. I unplugged, removed the liner and wiped that down with a damp towel, and cleaned out the main pot best I could, all using a damp kitchen towel. The pot lit up, seemed to start, then went blank. It would not light up or start after that, until about a half hour later just before I sent an email to Instant Brands asking about repairs. Now it is lighting up so I will use it again another day and see if it works. But at this point the chili is sitting in my 10 year old Panasonic SR-TMB10 rice/slow cooker, which has worked flawlessly since I bought it from Amazon in April 2009. Suggestions and advice on use: Mix up recipes outside of the cooker and place in the inner pot before placing the inner pot inside the cooker base to avoid spills getting inside the main cooker base. For slow cooking beef, as in a stew, use the highest setting. The medium setting did not do the job for me even after more than 6 hours. For pressure cooking beef, as in a stew, use the normal setting as listed in the recipe booklet. This produced a very nice and tender stew. Suggestions to Instant Brands: The design needs to be improved where the inner and outer pot meet to better avoid spills leaking inside. Splashing happens. Access to clean the base both inside and rim area could also be improved. A way to better store the included utensils, either on or inside the cooker would be a good idea IMO. See the rice cooker mentioned above, and others, for examples. I have enough clutter in my kitchen drawers, and it is too easy to misplace parts or accessories that are stored separately. The condensation collector needs to be more securely attached to the cooker, there are many better design examples on rice cookers from many sources.

The 3qt size is right for me
I spent a lot of time figuring out whether the 3qt Instant Pot would be big enough to cook mainly for myself, and it's fine. Not too big for a single cup of rice or oats, and it can make a batch of soup or stew to serve four people. I have not had to halve many recipes. I've been using manual and electric pressure cookers for many years, and this is the easiest one yet. It's so simple to operate, works as it should, and YouTube is full of recipes and help if needed. I've been using my IP mostly with pressure cooker recipe books, and mostly with success, due to author Urvashi Pitre convincing me that IP recipes need a lot less liquid than I thought. As for accessories, people complain about the amount of vigorous steam that shoots out when releasing pressure. A steam diverter keeps steam away from the paint on my cupboards. I'm also finding the rather expensive glass lid worthwhile. The Sauté function makes the IP into a saucepan, and it's much better with this lid. Small disappointments: my 3qt pot came with a steam rack that lacks handles, not the one illustrated. There were also two silicone rings for the lid, which I thought was a nice touch until I discovered how easily they absorb and transmit strong odors. Garlic rice pudding, no thanks, so one ring is for savory dishes and the other for sweet. I'll be trying online suggestions for deodorizing the rings, and possibly buying spares. The camper in me was interested to see that this little IP's electrical draw is modest, just 700 watts, so it's very suitable for use with a portable power source. I wanted a pressure cooker, and the only other function I have used so far is Sauté. Winter is coming and there are so many more buttons waiting to be pressed! Lots of kitchen fun ahead, so this IP is really good value for money.

So far so good!
This review is going to be in steps, but I am impressed with the Instant Pot Duo. The most important factors of a good review are 1. packaging, 2. instructions, 3. shipping ( which has been less than agreeable ), 4. product customer service, and, 5. product performance and durability. Of the first two factors, I am very happy that this product was well packaged and the instructions are easy to understand and very well written. Plenty of diagrams and pictures and warnings, but the reading must be done before attempting to operate this pot, if you want to become proficient. And to answer anyone's question, no I am not a professional chef! I buy spices directly from the San Francisco importer for freshness which deals in pounds and put them in quart canning jars to keep them fresh longer. And my cabinet doors are off to eliminate opening and closing which is a redundant action. So, for this first review, I am very satisfied with this product and hope to produce amazing recipes. I think all kitchens should have the right appliance to do the right process. One appliance does NOT fit all cooking situations and I will continue to add. Next is getting a good Instant Pot Cookbook which comes with the territory. Stay tuned for the rest of my review; looking forward to a great experience. Thanks Amazon. I'll be back! 2nd review is ready.......Steamed Vegetables! First, I love vegetables, not that I am a vegetarian, but the benefits of steamed vegetables are enormous! Yes! I did Bok Choy, Chard, Red Onion, chicken seasoning, sea salt, garlic powder, fresh ground black pepper: 1.5 cups of water in the bottom of the Instant Pot, 2 minutes pressure cook, and beautiful. Next time, 1 minute because I like a bit of crunch on the veggies. But beautiful! Next Broccoli, Cauliflower, Green Beans, Asparagus, Collard Greens, Beets, Butternut Squash, Yellow and Acorn Squash, and any other vegetable that can be steamed! Since I love vegetables, this Instant Pot is a game-changer for Me! See you in the next review! Happy Instant Potting! This is my final review, and I think, as I have told many people, including a lot of men who are afraid to boil water, let alone get anywhere near a kitchen...............If you can read, you can cook! And this is a wonderful appliance to have in your kitchen, even for novices who can't boil water. After all, cooking is nothing more than experimentation. And it's meant to be fun. The Instant Pot does most of the work, all you have to do is read, gather the ingredients; read to set the Instant Pot, close the lid and press the appropriate button. It didn't all come to me when I first started but gradually, after reading and following trusted advise from trusted people, I was having fun and soon started creating my own vegetable dishes. (I love veggies.) It's not meant to be rocket science and with the availability of so many cookbooks, you'll wonder why you didn't sooner. That's it. I love this little appliance for the convenience and ease. And there are so many functions to do the work. It was my best buddy that convinced me to get one and I am glad I listened to him. He's been cooking for 40 years. No, he isn't a chef either but I trust his judgement! You can trust mine!

Multifunction appliance. Quicker meals.
Instapots are awesome! Meals that used to take hours are done in minutes. It’s very versatile and can make rice, yogurt, soup, roast and many other meals. This last one I bought was for my daughter to replace my old 6 quart version when I upgraded to an 8 quart. I think I bought the first one around 2017-2018. I used it 2 times per week, but after I gave it to her around 2020, she used it 4-5 times a week, it finally ‘died’ in late 2025. My 8 quart is still going strong. The yogurt function is great. Beans from dried versions do not take all day to cook and are ready in just a few hours. Rice also works well in the Instapot! Highly recommend as the one appliance replaces several others saving lots of kitchen space.

Y no me arrepiento!
