Waste of money
Worked for a year. When I got the unit I couldn't hardly get the casing off to replace the batteries. When I finally did I quickly noticed the unit had been cross threaded from the factory. Since its such a lightweight aluminum case the threads were destroyed. I was able to get the case on one more time but for the second time that year the batteries went out. The case was so badly cross threaded it wasn't going to seal. Basically, I rented a laser edge finder for $10.50 a month. Waste of money.

Works as advertised but expensive
This item seems to me to be excessively expensive, but it does work like it should. The laser was off-center in mine, so I had to adjust it which took a little time to get just right.

ABOUT TIME
I don't know why no one thought of this before. It makes lining up bits etc on my not the greatest lathe a breeze.

Also perfect for aligning a tail stock to a chuck
Beats eyeballing a v-bit for edgefinding by a mile. Also perfect for aligning a tail stock to a chuck. Highly recommend!
