Reclaiming My Lunch Break: This Auto-Feed Shredder is the Ultimate Home Office Upgrade
There are few chores in a home office more tedious than standing over a waste bin, manually feeding two or three sheets of paper into a machine for twenty minutes. The absolute standout feature of this GBC shredder is the auto-feed capability, which has genuinely changed my daily workflow. I can stack up to 60 sheets of paper into the feeder, close the lid, and simply walk away to grab a coffee or answer an email while the machine does the heavy lifting. It is incredibly satisfying to hear it humming away in the background, efficiently chewing through a month's worth of junk mail and sensitive documents without requiring me to babysit the process. The rollers grab the paper reliably, and I haven't experienced the frustration of the feeder grabbing too many sheets at once and jamming, which is a common flaw in lesser auto-feed models.Beyond the convenience factor, the security provided by the super cross-cut blades offers significant peace of mind. Unlike standard strip-cut shredders that leave legible vertical lines, this machine turns documents into tiny, unreadable confetti particles. I feel completely comfortable disposing of bank statements, old tax forms, and medical records knowing that piecing them back together would be a near-impossible task. The "super" in the cross-cut description is accurate; the waste packs down much tighter in the bin compared to traditional cross-cuts, meaning I am emptying the basket far less frequently. The bin itself is easy to pull out and dump, and the viewing window is a nice touch so I don't accidentally let it overfill and create a mess.I also appreciate the versatility regarding what I can actually throw at this thing. It handles staples and paper clips within the stack without complaining, which saves me the time of prepping documents before shredding. There is also a dedicated manual slot for quick jobs or for destroying credit cards. I tested this with a few expired cards, and the cutter sliced through the plastic with the same ease it handles paper, leaving no readable chip or magnetic strip behind. While no shredder is silent, this unit operates at a surprisingly polite volume. It isn't a jarring, mechanical grinder noise, but rather a consistent hum that doesn't disrupt the entire household or drown out a phone call in the next room.It is worth noting that this is designed primarily for personal or home office use, and understanding its duty cycle is key to longevity. The auto-feed feature is brilliant for that stack of 60 papers, but the machine does need a cool-down period after continuous heavy use to prevent overheating. I have found that for typical daily shredding or a weekly purge of the mail pile, it performs flawlessly. The compact footprint fits neatly under my desk, staying out of the way until needed. If you are looking to upgrade from a cheap manual-feed shredder that jams constantly, this offers a level of efficiency and security that makes the investment entirely worthwhile.

Works Great
It does what it's supposed to do. The top can hold more paper to shred than the trash bin can hold so you have to constantly dump the shredded paper and that is extremely annoying and really slows down the process.I tweaked it a little to make it work more efficiently.Overall I'm happy with it and how well it works.

Very nice shredder
I have been using a regular shredder for a while but when I saw this particular shredder I embraced the idea of requesting one. My regular shredder does a good job but sometimes struggles a little bit with my unsolicited mail. This shredder arrived in a huge, heavy box and felt a bit intimidating. Opening the box and getting the shredder out of it was a bit of a chore. I didn't want to pick it up so I used four furniture sliders and moved it with ease to the site I had reserved for it. I am so glad to have those sliders!!Then it was time for the test. First came the 6 pages that the shredder devoured with ease. From there we proceeded to the automatic function. I inserted 47 identical sheets, opened the shredder and let it do its job.It passed the test with outstanding marks. What's more, it shredded the 47 sheets fast and silently. This is the first time I have used a shredder that isn't noisy.Though casters help move heavy shredders, I am glad this one doesn't have them. It is an elegant-looking machine and the casters would ruin the design.Everything considered, I am giving it five stars.

Better not have a problem requiring parts or customer service
This overall rating is review is based on GBC and their customer support and not the shredder. The shredder was delivered from Amazon within 2 days. The box showed no evidence of damage and the machine was well packaged. Upon setting it up, I noticed that 1 of 2 plastic roller clips just on the inside of the bin had been broken during assembly or shipping. I immediately called GBC customer service looking for the replacement clip which is 1" long and I am sure is a $0.30 part. I was told via a chat with their customer service and a phone call to their warranty department that they do not carry parts for any of their smaller machines as they are all made overseas and no parts are provided. Their recommended course of action is for me to box the whole thing back up and send it back to Amazon and order another one. The shredder seems to work just fine but they want me to return and reorder a $250+ machine for a $0.30 part.I knew I should have bought another Fellows Shredder.

Found a cheaper easier model
Multi-sheet shredders jam very easily especially when paper clips or Staples are involved. That the paper is inside a drawer makes it complicated and easier to jam.

The ultimate shredder
This is pretty pricey for a shredder however it does have a bigger shred capacity than most wastebasket shredders. I love that i can have up to 60 pages shredded manually in a pile inside the machine. Just set it and forget it basically! Ive only had one instance of it jamming but it was easy to clear and the machine kept shredding as intended. It did take some months to get this item ad it was never received the first go around but i finally received it and havent stopped shredding since!

So much more convenient than smaller shredders
So if you have a partner who has insisted on keeping boxes and boxes of papers over the last 20 years, you need this shredder. Do not, I repeat DO NOT buy the smaller shredders that only allow 6-8 pages at a time, because that machine will overheat and you'll constantly be turning it off and letting it cool off. It's a waste of time and money. Plus, those machines are messy to empty and the probability of cutting yourself is really high. This machine is fantastic because to empty it, you just pull out the bottom where the paper bits come down - no exposure to the blades, and no mess. You can shred a few pages at a time up top, or I believe up to 60 pages by placing the stack under the lid. SIXTY PAGES, people!

Slow
My dislike with this item is it gets stuck often. I wouldn’t suggest putting more than 3 sheet in at a time. It runs really slow.
