Does the night light have to stay on the whole time to be able to see? The only way I can see is if it is on.

The said feature has a black/white mode and a color night vision mode. Can the screen be turned off and still hear audio?

Hi - Yes, you can press the power button on the parent unit of the LeapFrog LF930HD to turn off the LCD screen. You will still be able to hear sounds from the Baby Unit. Thank you for your interest!

Are you able to continuously monitor the video on the screen, or does an image only appear when it is activated by motion or noise?

Beth - The LeapFrog LF930HD has an Auto Wake Up feature. When Auto Wake-Up is turned on, the Parent Viewer screen stays off to save power when the Baby Unit detects no sound. Once the Baby Unit detects sounds that are louder than the chosen sound sensitivity level, the Parent Viewer screen and speaker turn on automatically. The Parent Viewer will then turn off again after no sound has been detected for a while. You have the option to turn off the said feature for the parent viewer to stay on at all times even without any activity from the baby unit. Thank you for your interest!
