I wish I had this! Indispensible if you're thinking about quitting.
I was an extremely heavy smoker- three packs of non-filters a day. When I quit, over 50 years ago, there was no support, no aids, just suffer your way through it- and I did suffer. Then over 10 years after I quit cigarettes, I thought I could "handle" smokeless tobacco. Once again the nicotene addiction ran wildly out of control, and once again I had to suffer through the process of quitting.Quitting a nicotene is never easy- it is a true, powerful addiction. Indigenous American psychologist Eduardo Duran suggests that when we use a sacred plant like tobacco outside its ceremonial context- solely for our pleasure, we are forming an"unholy" bond with a the plant's spirit. When we try to quit, we are trying to break a pact with a demonic force.Whether we understand that literally or as a metaphor, the fact remains that we must bring all of our resources to break this bond. Joanna Nico Tina's book is wonderfully simple, yet is built on profound truths for breaking the bonds of addiction. If you want to quit, for free yourself, to live a full and healthy life, read this book, welcome Joanna's support, and follow its lessons. If I had not eventually quit successfully, I would not be here on this earth, writing this today. Quitting nicotene has given me life. I hope that it will do the same for you.

Simple, easy to follow, life changing.
I wish my parents had lived long enough for me to give them this book to read. They were never able to quick smoking tobacco. Buttkickers is short, clearly and cleverly written with humor and a loving message - love yourself enough to quick - whatever habit is no longer serving. It's a breath of fresh air. I don't even smoke tobacco but I inhaled this book. Bravo Joanna!!!

I love this book
Before I tell you why I love this book, let me tell you: I'm a mechanic. I read service manuals, and menus in restaurants. I don't read self-help books. But my sister wrote this book, and she bugged the living crap out of me to Please Read It. Every day, she said, Did you read my book yet? Did you even start it yet? Finally she wore me down, because I see her every day, and she asked me EVERY DAY.So I read it.And I will tell you the God's honest truth: I love this book, and not just because I love my sister. I love it because it's good. I stopped smoking and vaping, both, less than a year ago, so it's good timing for me, too, but it's not just about stopping smoking. It's about changing your LIFE.If you want your life to get better, read this book. Mine has. For real, and not just because she finally stopped bugging me.I love this book. And I love my sister even more for writing it.

You can stop gradually. Who knew?!
As someone who experienced the heartache and pain of losing her dad to lung cancer, and someone who also happens to be a "buttkicker" (for 10 years now), I love everything this gem of a support book has to offer. It's a fast read, packed with great ideas. My favorite being the idea that you can stop gradually, which makes this a truly individualized approach to kicking the life-sucking habit of using tobacco. My favorite invitation in the book is this: "Breathe, deeply. In and out, right now, and smile. Feel that? That’s what it feels like to be free." We all deserve to be free.

This book makes a difference!
This book is a triumph! ! I’ve followed Joanna’s work for many years and her advice has always been spot on as if she’s speaking right to me and the parents of the young children I’ve worked with for over 30 years. I’ve always been so concerned about their exposure to second hand smoke and her anniversary book is practical and easily read. It gently leads those who are ready through a respectful and gentle journey to ceasing smoking when they’re ready!

Love yourself..
Even though I quit smoking many years ago, this short read really taught me how important it is to love myself. Every day. As Nikki shows us, we don't have to do it overnight. Practice. You'll get it. Thank you Nikki for giving the love and support to all of our fellow buttkickers.

A great little book
I love this. 20 really helpful tools to help you 'kick butts' that doesn't just ask you to rely on Willpower.Tons of simple, easy things to try - none of them is complicated - and I've found they can be used for addressing other habits I want to break, as well as smoking. What makes it better is that the author has gone though the challenge of giving up smoking herself so knows how hard it can be and has come up a method that is full of empathy for the challenges of breaking free of tobacco.

This is a great book!
I bought this new edition for a friend who is struggling to quit. I was introduced to an older version by yet another friend several years ago. The book is amazing in that it can address so many behaviours. Though I have left smoking behind I find there are other issues that hold me back in everyday life. The book has helped me begin the process of addressing them in a manner that supports being gentle with myself.

It’s the only pleasure I still allow myself.” ( Je ne peux pas m’arrêter, c’est le seul plaisir que je m’accorde), et que, pourtant, vous rêvez de vous en libérer: ce livre est pour vous!
