Great Quality - Super-Bright!
Great quality. Just BEWARE that it won't work with the cheap 18650 batteries that you find everywhere, it has to be the protected ones like their very expensive Nitecore's or the equally good, but cheaper Orbtronic's.

switch on a MONSTER!
Truly a Tiny Monster. This light truly exceeded my expectations. This is more an area light than a distance light. But it is one very large area that can turn into daylight at only half power!

Tricky operation.
Very bright but only for very short bursts at highest level. The single button operation is very tricky and not for use in time critical environments. Wish battery pack had a screw on cap cover.

Great flashlight but avoid the rechargable battery pack
I've had this flashlight for two years now. I own several high end flashlights (Surefire, Pelican, etc), and the Nitecore is one of my favorites. It's by far the brightest. I live in the mountains (no street or city lights) which is what prompted this purchase. This flashlight cuts through the darkness. I also like the digital read out which indicates battery life, how much time before the battery is dead based on the light setting. The flashlight has several light settings 3-3500 lumens. In addition, the flashlight can be run on 123 batteries which is nice if you're out hiking and recharging is not an option. While I would give the flashlight 5 stars, this review is for the bundle which includes the battery pack (NBP52). The battery pack is nice in that it extends the time between charges. However, it only lasted 18 months (about 50 charges) -- not the advertised 500 charges. A replacement pack runs $140. The company no longer makes the battery pack which suggests they had problems with them. So, I would recommend buying the flashlight without the battery pack and use good quality rechargeables.

Need some light on the matter? (update: GREAT flashlight poor(no) service from the company.)
The light works as advertised and it works very well for lighting up an area or putting in a machine and being able to work off of the reflections throughout the machine. So far oil and grease hasn't been a problem for it and the lockout function is nice. It is a bit hot when you leave it on for a while even when it's at 1680 lumens. So far the only negative I see is the strobe. It a little tricky to get it in SOS and strobe modes as the light on to initiate it. The strobe is a bit fast for what would be needed for disorientating intruders but she shear brightness will probably do that anyways.*UPDATE*I really like this flashlight, it is very bright and puts out a good beam that tapers off nicely. The only problem is that, when you have problems with the product, Nitecore give no support for the products. That is fine and all for the $50 flashlights that I own, but when a LED goes bad on a flashlight that is 6 months old that is not used much and you can't get ahold of them to either honor a warrantee or offer a repair on a $300 flashlight that's not good business.
